Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller Not Seeking a Divorce

Though their reps have admitted that Charlie Sheen and wife Brooke Mueller are having marital issues, they are still trying to make their relationship work.

"Please let us clarify this: They are not seeking a divorce nor has one been contemplated," according to a joint statement released Monday by Mueller’s attorney, Yale Galanter, and Sheen’s longtime friend and Two and a Half Men executive producer, Mark Burg.

Furthermore, "there has been no financial agreements between the parties of any sort. Stories to the contrary are false," says the statement.

"This is a difficult time and they need space to see if they can work things out or not," Yale tells PEOPLE.

Scrutiny surrounding the couple’s marriage started after a Christmastime incident in Aspen, Colo., when Sheen allegedly threatened his wife and was arrested on domestic violence charges.

Though Sheen and Mueller are currently residing apart, they are making every effort to work through this rough patch in their relationship and are putting their family – including 13 month-old twin sons Bob and Max – first.

The couple ask that their privacy be respected during this time.

David Boreanaz Admits To Extramarital Affair

After reports began to surface that "Bones" star David Boreanaz had been unfaithful to his wife of nine years, Jaime Bergman, the actor has opened up about his infidelities. Boreanaz told People that he hopes to save his marriage.

"Our marriage has been tainted with my infidelities," the actor said. "I just want to be open and honest. I was irresponsible." He said that he is speaking out now because the unnamed woman with whom he had an affair allegedly contacted an attorney and threatened to go to the media with the story.

"I was associated with a woman who I was involved with and had a relationship with. She asked for money. I felt as though I was being blackmailed or there was some sort of extortion," he said. Regarding his relationship with his wife, Boreanaz said, "We're working on our marriage. We're working on repairing what has been damaged so badly."

TMZ reports that the actor decided to confess after the woman, whom he saw for only a short time, started demanding more and more money from the star. The mistress hired legal ace Gloria Allred, who demanded more money for her silence. Instead, Boreanaz decided to go public with the affair. Despite reports, Allred says the woman is not Rachel Uchitel, who had also been linked to Tiger Woods.

Boreanaz, who got his start playing the brooding vampire Angel in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and its spin-off, "Angel," married Bergman in November 2001. The couple has an 8-year-old son, Jaden, and an 8-month-old daughter, Bardot. This is Boreanaz's second marriage.

"A Nightmare on Elm Street" is number 1

Freddy Krueger is raking in cash at the box office again, while Robert Downey Jr.'s "Iron Man 2" got off to a big start overseas.

A remake of the slasher flick "A Nightmare on Elm Street" led the weekend with a $32.2 million debut domestically, according to studio estimates Sunday. Released by the Warner Bros. banner New Line, the movie features Jackie Earle Haley as Krueger, a psycho killer who stalks and slays victims in their dreams.

Paramount's "Iron Man 2" got an international head start on its domestic debut this Friday, pulling in $100.2 million in 53 foreign markets. While Hollywood blockbusters typically open around the same date in most countries, some get an overseas jump of a week or more on their U.S. debuts.

"Iron Man 2" brought in $12.2 million in Great Britain, $10.8 million in South Korea, $8.8 million in Australia and $8.2 million in France. According to Paramount, the sequel had bigger openings than 2008's "Iron Man" in every market.

"Iron Man 2" continues the story of Downey's billionaire superhero, a genius who builds himself a metal suit loaded with gadgets. Mickey Rourke co-stars as a new enemy with his own high-tech arsenal.

Fright films typically drop steeply in their second weekends, since hardcore horror fans rush out to see them in the first few days. But "A Nightmare on Elm Street" already is headed toward a solid profit after an opening weekend that roughly matched its modest production budget of just over $30 million.

Given the history of slasher sagas — the original 1984 "A Nightmare on Elm Street" was followed by seven sequels — the franchise likely has a long life ahead of it.

"It's certainly something we would entertain, the same with 'Friday the 13th,'" another New Line horror series that was revived last year and has a sequel in the works, said Dan Fellman, head of distribution at Warner Bros.

"A Nightmare on Elm Street" was unable to match the fresh start of "Friday the 13th," whose remake had a $40 million opening weekend in February 2009.

This weekend's other new wide release, Brendan Fraser's family comedy "Furry Vengeance," bombed with just $6.5 million. The Summit Entertainment release stars Fraser as a housing developer assailed by the cute woodland creatures whose habitat is threatened by construction.

The previous weekend's No. 1 movie, DreamWorks Animation's hit "How to Train Your Dragon," slipped to second place with $10.8 million, raising its total to $192.4 million.

While "A Nightmare on Elm Street" opened well, overall business was modest, continuing a lull as theaters prepare for the summer season, Hollywood's busiest time.

With "Iron Man 2," new potential blockbusters will start arriving virtually every weekend through August. Downey's "Iron Man" premiered domestically with a whopping $98.6 million weekend, ranking No. 15 on the chart for best debuts.

"What 'Nightmare on Elm Street' did is bridge the gap between the middling last part of spring leading into the summer," said Paul Dergarabedian, box-office analyst for Hollywood.com. "'Iron Man 2,' I'm prepared to say, is going to be one of the biggest openings of all time. Interest is huge."

In limited release, Sony Pictures Classics' "Please Give" opened strongly with $128,696 in five theaters, averaging a healthy $25,739 a cinema. That compares with an average of $9,665 in 3,332 theaters for "A Nightmare on Elm Street."

"Please Give" stars Catherine Keener and Oliver Platt as a Manhattan couple who buy an elderly neighbor's adjoining apartment — with the stipulation that the old woman can live out her life there before the buyers can do any expanding and remodeling.

Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Hollywood.com. Final figures will be released Monday.

1. "A Nightmare on Elm Street," $32.2 million.

2. "How to Train Your Dragon," $10.8 million.

3. "Date Night," $7.6 million.

4. "The Back-up Plan," $7.2 million.

5. "Furry Vengeance," $6.5 million.

6. "The Losers," $6 million.

7. "Clash of the Titans," $5.98 million.

8. "Kick-ass," $4.5 million.

9. "Death at a Funeral," $4 million.

10. "Oceans," $2.6 million.

Jessica Simpson: I Want to Be Michelle Obama

Jessica Simpson is a singer, actress and reality star, but now she has a new goal: She wants to be Michelle Obama.

"I really do," Simpson told PEOPLE before the White House Correspondents' dinner in Washington, D.C., Saturday. "She's such an incredible woman, and she's with such a powerful man."

What does Simpson admire most about the First Lady? "Everything she does she exudes confidence," says the singer. "I'm really just here to celebrate her."

Simpson was just one among many celebrities who came out for the annual event and mingled at the packed pre-party. Other starts included Sex and the City star Kristin Davis, Michael Douglas and Bradley Cooper.

"It's sort of like Oscar night," mused comedian Bill Maher, who joked: "It's great to mingle with America's real intellectual heavyweights. I saw the Jonas Brothers, Justin Bieber, Jessica Simpson, Ryan Seacrest – I can't wait to talk politics."

Despite all the bold-faced names, the most mobbed star of the evening was teen heartthrob Bieber. "Look at that guy: He's got more secret service than [President] Obama,” quipped Entourage's Adrian Grenier.

Still, the star of the night was President Barack Obama, who got lots of laughs during his speech. "It's been quite a year, " he said. "Lots of ups, lots of downs – except for my approval ratings, which have just gone down."

Obama also poked fun at Tonight Show host Jay Leno, who was in attendance at the event. "I am glad that the only person's whose ratings fell more than mine last year is here tonight. Great to see you, Jay," the president quipped to loud laughter. "I'm also glad that I'm speaking first because we've all seen what happens when somebody takes the timeslot after Leno's."

Is Gwyneth Paltrow Feuding with Scarlett Johansson?

If Gwyneth Paltrow and her Iron Man 2 costar Scarlett Johansson are feuding as some online reports suggest, it's news to the blonde star.

"People tell me, 'Oh you had a fight,' " Paltow tells PEOPLE at a party for Chopard's 150th anniversary at the Frick Collection in New York. "They're pitting you against each other and I just think, 'Why do we need to make a problem between women?' "

"I think that's the part that's lame," she says.

In fact, Paltrow, 37, says she found a kindred spirit in her 25-year-old costar.

"I adore Scarlett. I loved having her on set," the actress says. "She is really funny. She swears a lot. She has a dirty sense of humor. She loves to cook. She's like a girl after my own heart."

Paltrow, who got into top-notch shape for Iron Man 2 , which arrives in theaters May 7, slightly fell off the exercise wagon in order to get into character for another film. Still, she maintains that an active lifestyle is her priority. "I think a healthy lifestyle is really important," Paltrow says. "We're meant to be active and strong. We're not meant to be sedentary creatures who kind of sit at a desk all day."

Continues the actress: "It's so important to walk home or just take a bike ride because it's how you're connected to your body. It keeps all kinds of health problems at bay."

How does she keep in shape when not aggressively working out "I try to at least walk from point A to point B," says Paltrow, "or do some sit-ups before bed or anything to get the blood going."

Gabriel Aubry Sad About Split from Halle Berry

Although Gabriel Aubry and Halle Berry have split up, the model says he has nothing but love and respect for the actress, with whom he has a 2-year-old daughter.

“While I will not comment on all of the wild inaccuracies being speculated about in the media, I am sad to say that Halle and I have decided together to separate at this time," Aubry, a model, confirmed Friday in a statement to Access Hollywood released through his agency, Wilhelmina Models.

Reports of the couple's break up first began circulating widely on Friday. Berry’s rep couldn’t be reached for comment.

Aubry says of his Oscar winning ex, "She is, and will forever be, one of the most special and beautiful people that I have ever known, and I am certain that we will continue to have only love and respect for one another."

The couple are putting daughter Nahla first, according to the model. "Her happiness and well-being are the most important thing for both of us," Aubry says. "Please respect our privacy during this very difficult time."

Berry, 43, and Aubry, 34, had been together four years. They first met at a Versace store opening in Manhattan in February 2006.

Jodie Sweetin is pregnant!

Jodie Sweetin is going to be a mom again.

The actress – who has a 2-year-old daughter, Zoie, with ex-husband Cody Herpin – is expecting a baby with her boyfriend of one year, Morty Coyle. She’s due later this year.

"They’re happy," Sweetin’s rep Stella Alex tells PEOPLE, adding that the actress, who has struggled with addiction, "is in a good place."

Sweetin, 28, has certainly been Tweeting like a happy mom as of late: On April 16, she wrote, "I so enjoy my days of hanging around at home with [Zoie]. It’s the best!"

Meanwhile, her ex Herpin has lashed out about the news, telling The National Enquirer that he’s "disgusted" with his ex and questions her ability to maintain her sobriety.

Sweetin, says her rep, is "clean, clean, clean. She’s looking forward to moving on with her life and she’s just happy to be a mom."
