Jesse James: Sandra Bullock Deserved the Oscar "More Than Anybody"
Motorcycle man Jesse James is thrilled for his wife Sandra Bullock, who won a Best Actress Oscar for The Blind Side Sunday night.
"I'm so proud of her," he told UsMagazine.com at the Governor's Ball. "She deserves it more than anybody. I got teary eyed when she won. I'm so happy. This is a big night for us. Normally we're in bed by 9 o'clock!"
On The Oprah Winfrey Show Monday, Bullock, 45, thanked James, 40, for bearing with her throughout the awards season.
"This is a man who works 12 hours a day, manual labor," she said. "I have to pull him out of bed … and say, 'Can you try on the Dolce suit?' He's like, 'Do I have to?' I'm like: 'Yes. I don't want you to look like a bad waiter.' … He's amazing."
On Monday, the two celebrated Bullock's win with lunch at Cisco Burger, which Jesse opened in 2006 in Long Beach, Calif. Before the meal, Bullock told Winfrey she planned on getting "a juicy burger."
"I want fries. I want soft-serve ice cream," she said, "and I want to look at him and say, 'Thank you.'"
Has her win sunk in yet?
"No," Bullock said on Lopez Tonight Monday. "We only got two hours of sleep last night and we had to get up and work again. I'm just sort of trying to just keep walking around the house, so I don't go to sleep. I don't think it's going to sink in until I'm like in a grocery a month from now, and I pick something up with the word 'gold' in it ... then I'll just drop to my knees and start crying in the middle of the aisle."
