Chris Noth Caught Up In Glass Roof Disaste

Sex and the City star Chris Noth was caught up in a terrifying incident in New York City on Saturday night after a glass roof collapsed on partygoers in a Manhattan building.

Noth was one of a number of stars attending a Purim bash at the Sony Building, where around 300 guests gathered to celebrate the Jewish festival.

But the evening turned to disaster when the glass ceiling of the atrium caved in under the weight of ice and snow on the roof, sending dangerous shards into the lobby below.

Guests were subsequently evacuated from the building, while four people who sustained injuries were transferred to the Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan for treatment.

Noth is not believed to have been hurt in the incident. Several members of reality TV show Jersey Shore were also in attendance at the party, and one star, Snooki, took to her Twitter.com page to tell fans of the frightening accident.

She writes, "Omg roof just collapsed. We thought the DJ was beatin' the beat hardcore but nope, the roof couldn't handle Snooki and Vin."

Julianne Moore may return to 'As the World Turns'

The soon-to-be-history As the World Turns may be the lowest-rated soap opera in daytime TV but it's looking to go out with a bang: Sources confirm to EW exclusively that the CBS sudser is in serious talks with Julianne Moore (A Single Man) to reprise her role (roles?) as Frannie and Sabrina Hughes. The Oscar-nominated actress got her start on Atwt in 1985 by playing the half-sisters - a depiction that earned her a Daytime Emmy in 1988, the year she left the show. It's unclear how Moore will be woven into the final episodes of the drama, which will end its 54-year-run in September.

Shutter Island still going strong

Proving that Thursday and Friday's massive Northeast snowstorm put a major damper on moviegoing, the box office had a strong rebound on Saturday bringing some smiles to the distributors of newcomers "Cop Out" and "The Crazies."

Paramount Pictures' "Shutter Island" still held on to the top spot with $22 million, only dropping 45% from its opening weekend, but close behind it was the Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan comedy "Cop Out" with $18.5 million. The Kevin Smith flick had a larger than expected 30% jump from Friday to Saturday (no doubt because the weather improved) and is now well on its way to recouping its reported $30 million budget. "Shutter," on the other hand, has a new cume of $75 million and is within reach of hitting $100 million domestically. That would be the third Scorsese and DiCaprio collaboration to hit that mark in a row.

Also showing strength was the horror flick "The Crazies." The picture also had an unexpected Friday to Saturday jump (although only 6%), but distributor Overture Films was "delighted" at the results. With $16.5 million so far, the picture should easily recoup its $20 million budget. It's also the second solid hit in a row for the troubled studio after last October's "Law Abiding Citizen."

In fourth place, "Avatar" made history becoming the first film to gross over $700 million with a new cume of $706.9 million. For more on this achievement, click here.

Fifth place belonged to "Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" which sneaked by "Valentine's Day" for the honor. The family friendly flick grossed another $9.8 million for a new total of $71 million. "Valentine's Day" romanced an estimated $9.5 million to hit $100.3 million to date.

In limited release, "The Ghost Writer" continued to impress. Jumping to 43 screens, the Roman Polanski thriller cracked the top 20 and made $870,000 for a potent $20,233 average. To date, the Berlin Film Festival winner has no made $1.129 million.

Another encouraging debut came from Best Foreign Language Film nominee "A Prophet." The French drama found $170,000 on just 9 screens for an impressive $18,889 average.

Next weekends openers include Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" and another Overture release, "Brooklyn's Finest."

The I Decided singer's blog on the social networking site was updated on Friday afternoon (26Feb10) with a message championing the affects of a diet product and providing followers with a link to purchase the weight-loss aid.

The post read: "remember that diet I tryed (sic) it works!"

She wrote, "What in the fuggggg (sic)!!! I got hacked! Y'all know my lil a** ain't (sic) lost no 40 pounds... Sorry to all who actually ordered that. Sounds like crack in a bottle. And not humanly possible."

Elliott Yamin rattled by earthquake

Former American Idol contestant Elliott Yamin was one of millions to survive Saturday's massive 8.8-scale earthquake in the South American nation of Chile.

"Huge earthquake just now in Chile!!..I swear this was the end of my life!" he Tweeted early Saturday as the quake hit. "F*ck!!!!..I just escaped with my life."

Yamin, who finished third on season five of Idol, is in the country for the Vina del Mar International Song Festival.

CNN actually began reporting on the singer's Tweets as part of its coverage of the disaster.

"Complete and utter choas on the streets...no power...my heart is beatin outta my chest!....tsunami warnin...I am only a mile inland," Yamin wrote.

A while later, he assured followers, "we r totally safe and sound 4 the time being...I'm finally calmer, and dawn is approaching, which will help!..thx 4 ur prayers...I'm totally calm now....were all 2gether...got blankets from our rooms, and we're all hudled on the street..no aftershox in a while.."

The Associated Press reports that the earthquake is one of the strongest ever recorded, leaving toppled building and collapsed bridges in its wake. Tsunamis set off by the quake threaten countries bordering the Pacific Ocean, or roughly 25% of the planet.

President-elect Sebastian Pinera declared a national state of catastrophe, and stated that 120 have died -- a number that is bound to rise quickly.

Yamin later spoke with ABC News. "I'm doing OK, all things considered," he said, explaining that he was on the sixth floor of his hotel when the quake struck.

"It was a real fast, gyrating kind of shaking...I haven't been in an earthquake like that since I was a kid. I didn't even know if I was going to make it downstairs." The star confessed that he "shed a few tears. I was pretty emotional."

He added gratefully that "no immediate destruction" was apparent in Vina del Mar, where he and his band were staying.

The earthquake's epicenter was near Concepion, Chile's second largest city, 200 miles southeast of the capital, Santiago.

Murphy May Have Taken 109 Vicodin in 11 Days

The actress reportedly filled prescription for 120 Vicodin pills days before her death, and only 11 were left when she was found collapsed in her home.

Troubled starlet Brittany Murphy filled a prescription for the painkiller Vicodin just 11 days before her death late last year but 109 pills were missing when she was found collapsed in her home Dec. 20, The New York Post reported Saturday, citing a coroner's office report.

The official cause of death has been ruled pneumonia and drug intoxication. The report says the 32-year-old "8 Mile" actress was issued 120 pills of Vicodin on Dec. 9, and only 11 were left in the bottle when she suddenly died at her Los Angeles home.

The gossip Web site TMZ is also reporting Saturday that the LA coroner's office can't locate the doctor who issued the prescription.

It isn't clear why Murphy was prescribed the painkiller. Vicodin is supposed to be taken no more than four times daily, the site reported, making the max she should have taken in that time would be 44 instead of 109.

The coroner's office has Murphy's death an accident, and said she died of pneumonia and drug intoxication. "Iron deficiency anemia" was also cited as a cause.

TMZ is also reporting that coroner's officials have reached out to Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack, to help locate the missing doctor, but came away empty handed.

Deryck Whibley and Avril Lavigne back together?

Avril Lavigne has sparked rumors of a reconciliation with husband Deryck Whibley after they were photographed leaving a party in London together just four months after the singer filed for divorce.

Lavigne split from the Sum 41 rocker late last year after three years of marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences".

She has since been linked to a string of new men including The Hills star Brody Jenner and actor Wilmer Valderrama.

But Lavigne is now rumored to have revived her relationship with Whibley after the former couple was snapped sharing a car together following the Alice in Wonderland premiere in London on Thursday night.

The Sk8er Boi hitmaker, who contributed a song to the film's soundtrack, appeared on the red carpet solo, but later left the afterparty with Whibley.

Gary Coleman Hospitalized After Another Seizure

Gary Coleman is being treated at a Los Angeles area hospital after suffering a seizure on the set of TV's The Insider on Friday, the show reports.

The actor "received immediate medical attention by Drew Pinsky, M.D. who was sitting next to him at the time," according to The Insider. "He was transferred in stable condition to a local hospital."

Last month, Coleman, 41, was briefly hospitalized in L.A. after he suffered what he called "seizure activity."

Coleman was born with failed kidneys and underwent two transplants before the age of 14. At one stage in his life, he underwent dialysis four times a day in order to survive. But it's unclear if his recent seizures are kidney-related.

Sara Evans files restraining order against her ex

Country music singer Sara Evans has filed a temporary restraining order against her ex-husband, Craig Schelske.

She obtained the restraining order Wednesday in Williamson County, Tenn.

Documents say Schelske is not allowed to make any derogatory statements about Evans to the media or make allegations about what led to their divorce in the fall of 2007.

A court hearing has been set for March 15.

The 39-year-old Evans had been competing on ``Dancing With the Stars'' in October 2006 when she suddenly quit the show and filed for divorce. The divorce proceedings played out publicly, with both Evans and Schelske accusing each other of having affairs. Both denied the accusations. They have three children together.

Evans won top female vocalist at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2006.

Witherspoon fuels romance rumors with second date

Reese Witherspoon has fueled rumors she's moved on following her split from Jake Gyllenhaal after she was photographed enjoying a second date with a Hollywood agent.

The Legally Blonde actress split from her long time boyfriend late last year, and was subsequently linked to agent Jim Toth, after the pair was snapped having dinner together in Santa Monica, California last month.

The star sent gossips into a spin again on Wednesday after she was pictured enjoying another night out with Toth, who works for Creative Artists Agency, the organisation which represents Witherspoon.

The pair was photographed out in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, with the actress leaving with Toth in his car.

A source tells Life & Style magazine the pair has been dating quietly for three weeks: "They've been on at least 10 dates. They've been to each other's houses and out to dinner together. Jim is trying to keep it quiet, but he and Reese are together, he's told friends... They've been acting like a couple, they've even double-dated. You don't go out with another couple unless you're dating. They spend several nights a week together."

Neil Patrick Harris is going to be on Glee

This is what I'm hearing from Glee sources about Neil Patrick Harris' guest spot, which has been rumored for weeks but is now very much a done deal. In fact, as I type this to you, the script for Neil's awesome episode is being written—yee!—and one Fox insider tells me: "The fans will love it." So what will Neil play? Here's what I'm hearing:

Hold on to your track pants, Sue Sylvester! 'Cause one solid Glee insider tells me that Neil is playing a character who is "really funny and really mean." I'm told he will be "much more of the Dr. Horrible variety than Doogie Howser, M.D."

Legend...ary!

So it seems Glee's writers are smartly honing in on their comedy sweet spot: deliciously devious characters who can deliver those breathtaking LOL one-line zingers. (See: Jane Lynch, and now Molly Shannon, who is rumored to be playing an enemy to Sue.)

So where does Neil's guest spot now stand? "When the news first broke that Neil was coming on," one Fox insider says, "it really wasn't happening at that point and nothing was written. But things changed fast, as they do."

That said, we'll know more details when the ink on Neil's ep has dried. But the good news is that the ink has definitely dried on his contract, and we'll get the great flavors of NPH and Glee together in very late spring.

Child support trial set in Palin, Johnston case

A judge in Alaska has set a date for the child support trial of Bristol Palin and the father of her son but urged the two to work out a resolution before then.
Bristol Palin attended the 20-minute hearing Thursday at Palmer Superior Court but Levi Johnston did not appear or participate by phone.

The judge told Johnston's lawyer it would have been better if Palin's former fiance had participated.

The 19-year-old daughter of Sarah Palin is seeking nearly $1,700 a month in child support from Johnson, who is a current Playgirl model. Palin's lawyer is seeking to subpoena Playgirl and media outlets to find out how much Johnston made last year.

The judge set a trial date for Sept. 23 and told Johnston's lawyer to get his client's financial information to the court. He says it was past due.

Woman sues rapper 50 Cent over tape

Woman sues rapper 50 Cent over tape

A Florida woman has sued rapper 50 Cent in New York City, claiming he unlawfully distributed her homemade sex video over the Internet after editing himself into it as a wig-wearing narrator.

Lastonia Leviston filed a lawsuit on Wednesday in Manhattan claiming unauthorized use of her name or image and emotional distress caused by the public release of a video she made with a lover in 2008.

The lawsuit claims 50 Cent posted the video on his Web site last year after blurring out the lover's face. It also claims the rapper appears in the video wearing a wig and robe and can be heard narrating throughout.

The rapper's real name is Curtis Jackson. His lawyer hasn't responded to a phone message seeking comment.

Conan tweets

Conan O'Brien is experiencing talk-show withdrawal pangs.

He tweeted Wednesday that he interviewed a squirrel in his backyard, then tried to go to a commercial.

In the bio section of the account that's verified by Twitter as accurate, O'Brien wrote: ``I had a show. Then I had a different show. Now I have a Twitter account.''

His January exit deal with NBC bars him from interviews or TV appearances for several months, so tweeting is another way O'Brien can communicate with fans.

He left ``Tonight'' after NBC tried to bump him to a midnight slot to move Jay Leno back to late-night. Leno will reclaim ``Tonight'' on Monday.

Under his NBC agreement, O'Brien can start another show in September. Fox has expressed interest in the comedian.

NBC is owned by General Electric Co.; Fox is a unit of News Corp.

Chris Brown defends Tiger Woods

Chris Brown said yesterday in a Detroit radio interview spotted by MTV News. “I hope [Woods] gets back on the field and does his thing, ’cause he is the best at it…Whatever [Woods'] personal life is, and this goes for me and him, his personal life is his personal life. Nobody has the right to place judgment or make any judgment on anybody else’s personal life when they’re not directly involved with them.”

I don't get why Chris Brown is comparing what he did to what Tiger Woods did. Tiger didn't hit his wife. I think Chris should rethink what he is saying. He sounds pretty dumb.

Steven Tyler is back!

Recently rehabbed Steven Tyler is ready to rock again with his bandmates – and not without some effort on his part.

"I just auditioned and I got the gig," Tyler, 61, jokes in a new video announcing his band's upcoming European tour. "We're coming your way and rocking your world. Look out baby – because here we come again."

The rocker caused fans – and his bandmates – to worry about his health in Nov. 2009 after he displayed some erratic behavior which caused Aerosmith to cancel shows. Tyler ultimately entered rehab for painkiller addiction the next month.

The band's newly announced tour begins June 10 in Sweden – and wraps July 3 in Venice, Italy. No North American shows have been announced yet.

Lawyer: Deadliest Catch's Jake Harris Wasn't Driving Drunk

Jake Harris of TV's Deadliest Catch wasn't boozing and wasn't on drugs the night of his DUI arrest, his attorney tells PEOPLE.

"He didn't have a sip of alcohol," lawyer Ed Ritter says. "This whole case stemmed from an anonymous caller who alleged he was driving erratically, but there's no evidence of that."

Harris, 24, whose father Capt. Phil Harris died from complications of a stroke on Feb. 9, was pulled over in his father's BMW nine days later in Seattle and was booked with DUI, hit-and-run and driving with a suspended license.

Although Harris allegedly failed a field sobriety test, Ritter questions whether the test was properly administered and adds there have been no witness statements provided regarding the alleged hit-and-run.

Ritter acknowledges Harris was driving with a suspended license due to several speeding tickets. "Jake was unaware that his license was suspended until the [officer] made him aware of it and we're in the process of taking care of those tickets."

Harris made two procedural court appearances in recent days but hasn't yet been charged by prosecutors, who are still reviewing the case.

As for how Harris is holding up in light of his father's death, "He's still torn up about it," Ritter says, "and he feels really bad about what happened last week, but he's moving on as best as he can for now."

Jennifer Lopez and her record label has split

Now Lopez may try to release the album online, the source tells the News.

'Epic technically owns the material from her album, so she needs to buy it back from them to have control over it,' the insider told the News.

'But she'll try to release the album online if need be. It may be her last resort to take control of a poor situation.'

Lopez's manager, Benny Medina, insists that the label did not dump Lopez.

'Jennifer had a wonderful relationship with the Sony Music Group and they have shared many successes together,' he said.

'But the time was right to make a change that best serves the direction of her career as an actress and recording artist.'

PETA is mad at Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson lost her pet maltipoo Daisy five months ago when she was attacked by a coyote.

Simpson recently wrote on Twitter: 'I'm thinking about getting a pet pig. Does this mean I'll have to give up pork?'

However, PETA isn't impressed with her comments and a rep said to UsMagazine.com: 'Pigs, who are smarter than dogs and every bit as sensitive to pain and stress, don't belong in Jessica's stomach or carted around as her latest accessory.'

Mary-Kate Olsen splits with boyfriend

Mary-Kate Olsen is a single lady again.

The 23-year-old actress/fashion designer has recently parted ways with her boyfriend Nate Lowman, reports Usmagazine.com.

The two had been dating since 2008, and reportedly split right before Valentine’s Day.

The star’s rep confirmed the split when asked if the pair was still together saying, "No, they are not. It’s been a while.”

Keeping her mind off of the split has supposedly been easy for her, as Olsen has reported been up to quite a few things.

She is in London for Fashion Week, and was spotted at the ELLE Style Awards on Monday with her twin sister, Ashley.

More interestingly, the former child star was spotted at the Weinstein Co. and Universal Pictures post BAFTA party in London, kissing actor Josh Hartnett, according to a source, reports People.com.

"They were making out in a dark corridor of the party," the source says. "Everyone danced all night."

Leif Garrett Pleads Not Guilty in Heroin Case

Former 70s teen idol Leif Garrett appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom Wednesday and pleaded not guilty in a felony drug possession case.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Gregory Dohi ordered the 48-year-old, who is free on bail, to return to court March 16.

Defense attorney Andrew Flier said authorities illegally searched Garrett before he was arrested Feb. 1 for investigation of carrying heroin at the Metrolink station in downtown Los Angeles.

Flier says Garrett disputes the contention that he was nervous and sweating profusely, which prompted his search and arrest.

"He's very upset about this arrest," Flier said.

Garrett did not speak to reporters at the hearing.

Back in 2006, the troubled singer/actor was arrested for possession of heroin and quaaludes while allegedly riding a Metro Red Line train without a ticket.

He was sentenced to 90 days in jail for the incident.

In 1999, Los Angeles police arrested the bandanna-wearing musician in the MacArthur Park area after he allegedly tried to buy narcotics from undercover officers.

In 1979, Garrett was behind the wheel of a Porsche and allegedly under the influence of beer and drugs when he rear-ended a car, leaving his best friend Roland Winkler, a paraplegic.

Garrett frequently appeared in the teen magazine Tiger Beat, and was the subject of a VH-1 "Behind The Music" special that traced his rise from child actor on such shows as "The FBI" and "Gunsmoke" to the decline of his musical career in the early 1980s.

In the 1990s, he appeared in such films as "Dominion" and "The Whispering."

Khloe Kardashian isn't rushing to have a baby

The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star says, “But we’re not stopping ourselves from having kids, either,” We’re just being a healthy married young couple ... I’m not sitting here staring at an ovulation calendar. I’m not saying to Lamar, ‘Okay, it’s time, let’s go!’ Yes, I’m not on the pill, but people stir my words around. Let’s just say sometimes I talk too much.”

And speaking of big mouths, Khloe recently appeared on her show wanting to make a sexy video for her husband while he was on the road.

“It’s not a sex video,” Khloe insisted. “It’s called a love tape. I made a collage video of all the things that he loves. He loves candy, so I filled up a whole bathtub of candy while Kourtney taped it. It was just a love note. I put the video in his bag for when he goes on road trips. I don’t do sex tapes! Although, with my husband, I can’t say what I will or will not do in the future. I won’t know until I’m in that moment.”

As far as her own relationship, Khloe says hers is very different from sister Kourtney’s. She says that Kourtney and Scott Disick’s bond is “definitely much smoother than it was, but they still have their ups and downs. There are things that you and I wouldn’t put up with and visa versa.”

But Khloe admits there are problems with Lamar. “Lamar is just like another Kourtney - he’s a little bit of a slob. But in a way I kind of like it because I feel like I’m making his life better by cleaning up after him.”

Charlie Sheen is in rehab

Charlie Sheen has entered rehab and is taking a break from television's top-rated comedy, "Two and a Half Men," his publicist said Tuesday.

"As a preventative measure, Charlie Sheen has entered a rehabilitation facility," publicist Stan Rosenfield wrote in a four-sentence statement that did not specify why Sheen, 44, was seeking treatment. The statement sought privacy for the embattled actor.

The move comes roughly two months after Sheen was arrested after a fight with his wife at his Aspen, Colo., home. Prosecutors later charged the actor with felony menacing and misdemeanor charges of third-degree assault and criminal mischief. The most serious charge carries a maximum three-year prison term.

Sheen's wife, Brooke, is also in rehab seeking treatment for an undisclosed reason, her attorney Yale Galanter said Monday. She is still asking that the charges be dismissed, he said.

Galanter and Rosenfield confirmed Monday that Los Angeles child protective services workers visited the actor and the couple's infant sons over the weekend. Galanter and Rosenfield said it was a routine, previously scheduled visit related to the Aspen court case.

Until Tuesday, Sheen's legal problems hadn't disrupted taping of "Two and a Half Men," which is one of CBS' top shows and television's top-rated comedy.

Last week, 10.6 million people tuned into a rerun of the show, according to ratings released by the Nielsen Co.

CBS spokesman Chris Ender had no immediate comment Tuesday on Sheen entering rehab.

In early January, CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler said the network was being sensitive to what it considered a "very personal and private matter for Charlie."

Rob & Kristen are together?

OK! has been reporting a romance between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart for some time; however, recent reports of Robert confirming his relationship with his on-screen Twilight love have us a little bewildered. While it may be hard to believe that the dashing, brooding, handsome R-Pattz would speak so openly about his relationship with Kristen, a convincing photo circulating the Web may validate the news that the couple is ready to go public with their relationship.

On Sunday night’s awards ceremony in London, Rob broke his silence on the relationship, telling the UK’s The Sun newspaper, “It is extremely difficult but we are together, yes.”

“This was supposed to be a public appearance as a couple but it’s impossible. We are here together and it’s a public event but it’s not easy.”

Rob made the admission at a dinner following the ceremony, after he and Kristen arrived separately.

The couple were very close at the after party, celebrating Kristen’s Orange Rising Sun award.

Rob and Kristen tried to quietly sneak out of the after party together, but failed, as they were caught off guard and snapped in a picture together in their SUV.

Bristol Palin is set to act

Bristol Palin, arguably the most famous teen mother in America, will make her acting debut playing herself on ABC Family's "The Secret Life of the American Teenager," the network announced today.

Is premarital sexual abstinence a realistic goal for teens?"I am thrilled to be on this show and to be part of a program that educates teens and young adults about the consequences of teen pregnancy," Palin said in a statement.

Bristol Palin, daughter of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, will play herself as a friend to the show's protagonist, Amy, at a music program for teen mothers. "Secret Life" focuses heavily on how Amy's family and friends deal with her own unexpected pregnancy.

"We're thrilled to have [Bristol] join us, and I think she will bring additional attention to the issues facing teen parents that we've been exploring for a couple seasons now," "Secret Life" executive producer Brenda Hampton said in a statement.

Bristol Palin, who became pregnant in high school, was thrust on the national stage with young baby in arms when her mother Sarah Palin was named John McCain's running mate in the 2008 presidential election.

Bristol was briefly engaged to the baby's father, Levi Johnston, whom she has recently has taken to court to get full custody of their son, Tripp, and to ask for increased child support.

Johnny Depp Turns Defender of Convicted Murderers

Johnny Depp has become the new face of a campaign seeking to overturn what many believe is the wrongful conviction of the so-called West Memphis Three—a trio of young men found guilty of the brutal 1994 murder of three boys in Arkansas.

The Alice in Wonderland star will appear on CBS' 48 Hours Mystery. In a preview clip, he claims the outcome of the trial was not based on the facts and evidence (or lack thereof), instead focusing on the teens' obsession with heavy metal music, Stephen King and satanic rituals.

"I firmly believe Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley are totally innocent. It was a need for swift justice to placate the community," Depp says. "Damien Echols is on death row to be killed by lethal injection."

Depp joins such celebrity activists as Eddie Vedder, Henry Rollins, Dixie Chicks, Tom Waits, Margaret Cho, Winona Ryder, South Park's Trey Parker, Marilyn Manson and even Demi Lovato calling for the West Memphis Three's release.

Echols is the only one awaiting execution. Both Baldwin and Misskelley were handed life sentences, but all three continue to maintain their innocence, claiming they were victims of a full-blown panic reminiscent of the Salem witch trials. They have filed motions seeking to reverse their convictions and obtain a new trial.

Before their story attracted the attention of Tinseltown, it was successfully chronicled to devastating effect in the 1996 documentary Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills.

Angelina Jolie and Jon Voight are talking

Angelina Jolie has stepped out in public with her estranged father Jon Voight for the first time in several years.

Elton John is under fire

The Rocket Man has been targeted by outraged bloggers and 'tweeters' over comments he made to Parade.com as part of an article which will appear in the website's sister weekend magazine.

In the article, the Brit says, "I think Jesus was a compassionate, super-intelligent gay man who understood human problems.

"On the cross, he forgave the people who crucified him. Jesus wanted us to be loving and forgiving. I don't know what makes people so cruel."

His remarks have led to a wave of attacks from online critics.

One writes, "John is now the authority on Christ? Jesus Christ was as gay as Saddam Hussein is alive."

And blogger rhardin tells Fox News' 411 blog, "I will never listen to this man's music again. How dare he speak of my Lord in such a disgraceful way. He should not speak on things he knows nothing about. I hope and pray that all Christians will take a stand on this one. Elton John's lifestyle speaks for itself."

Meanwhile, bobj72 tells TheDailyBeast.com, "While I have had some appreciation for Elton John's music ... he could not be further from the truth on this matter regarding Jesus. It is clearly stated in Leviticus 18:22, 23; that Christ sees homosexuality as an abomination."

Lindsay Lohan talks about doing drugs

In a new interview, Lindsay Lohan admits she feared for her life while abusing substances including cocaine to deal with family problems – but has learned to embrace life instead of drugs since her hellish days in 2007.

"I tried to mask my problems with alcohol, cocaine and mind-altering substances," the actress, 23, tells the British newspaper The Sun. "Now I'm in a place where I don't need to use anything and I can feel emotions because I choose to."

Lohan gives a blow-by-blow account of 2007, her annus horribilis, when she was arrested for drunk driving twice and cocaine possession and went to rehab three times. The underlying cause of her erratic behavior, she says now, was her father Michael's airing the family's dirty laundry in public.

"That's when I hit rock bottom," she says. "I abused substances too much, and it wasn't the answer to my problems. People need to know that."

Tub Overflowed
Lohan first checked into rehab in January 2007, after taking the sleeping pill Ambien and passing out while running a bath at a hotel. She woke up to find the tub overflowing on her. "I was so scared," she says. "I called my therapist and said, 'Can I just go somewhere for a month? I'm around bad people and I need to take care of myself.' "

She was arrested that May for drunk driving in an incident she now calls "stupid and childish," and again in July, when police discovered cocaine in her purse. "I was only aware of cocaine because of my dad," Lohan says. "I was terrified of it. But I tried it because I was stubborn, stupid, and wanted to see what it was like."

After each of those incidents, she did another stint in rehab.

Therapist Twice a Week
These days, she says she sees a therapist every two week and attends weekly alcohol education lessons. "I'm allowed to drink now but I know my limits," she maintains.

She hopes her story will resonate with other young people. "I learned from my mistakes, and I'm now healthy and happier," she says. "I've made some dreadful mistakes but learned from them – that has probably saved my life."

Shutter Island is number one

Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio's voyage to ``Shutter Island'' has landed them at No. 1 at the weekend box office.

Their creepy crime thriller set at a remote insane asylum opened with $40.2 million, according to studio estimates Sunday. A Paramount Pictures release, ``Shutter Island'' is the fourth collaboration for Scorsese and DiCaprio and the best opening yet for both the director and star.

Scorsese's previous personal best was $26.9 million with his 2006 Academy Awards champ ``The Departed,'' which also starred DiCaprio. The biggest previous debut for DiCaprio was $30.1 million for 2002's ``Catch Me If You Can.''

Along with ``The Departed,'' DiCaprio and Scorsese also worked together on ``Gangs of New York'' and ``The Aviator,'' both of them earning best-picture nominations at the Oscars.

``The two of them have great chemistry, and you see it on screen,'' said Rob Moore, vice chairman at Paramount.

Roman Polanski's thriller ``The Ghost Writer'' got off to a big start in limited release, pulling in $179,000 at four theaters in New York City and Los Angeles for a whopping average of $44,750 a cinema. That compares to a $13,440 average in 2,991 theaters for ``Shutter Island.''

The film likely benefited from months of press coverage over Polanski's arrest in Switzerland last fall and his possible extradition to the United States, which he fled in 1978 after pleading guilty to unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.

``If not for the notoriety in his public life, no, I don't think this would have done as well,'' said Paul Dergarabedian, box-office analyst for Hollywood.com. ``It put a spotlight on Polanski, maybe not for all the right reasons. But they say there's no such thing as bad publicity, especially when it comes to marketing a movie.''

Released by Summit Entertainment, ``The Ghost Writer'' stars Ewan McGregor in the title role, a man hired to punch up the dreary memoirs of a former British prime minister (Pierce Brosnan) who has been accused of ordering the abduction of terrorism suspects and handing them over for torture by the CIA.

The previous weekend's top movie, the all-star romance ``Valentine's Day,'' slipped to No. 2 with $17.2 million, falling a steep 69 percent from its $56.3 million debut. The Warner Bros. release raised its total to $87.4 million after 10 days in theaters.

The science-fiction sensation ``Avatar'' is still going strong after two months in theaters, coming in third with $16.1 million and raising its record domestic total to $687.8 million. Worldwide, the 20th Century Fox film has taken in $2.47 billion.

Adapted from Dennis Lehane's novel, ``Shutter Island'' stars DiCaprio as a U.S. marshal caught up in conspiracies and delusions while investigating the disappearance of a patient at a hospital for the criminally insane.

``Shutter Island'' had been scheduled for release last October and was considered a potential Oscar contender given the awards success of Scorsese and DiCaprio's earlier collaborations.

Just six weeks before the planned release last fall, Paramount abruptly bumped ``Shutter Island'' to February, the studio calling it an economic decision that would increase the film's profit potential.

``We knew that more time was only going to help us get the word out and get a broader audience,'' Moore said.

Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Hollywood.com. Final figures will be released Monday.

1. ``Shutter Island,'' $40.2 million.

2. ``Valentine's Day,'' $17.2 million.

3. ``Avatar,'' $16.1 million.

4. ``Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief,'' $15.3 million.

5. ``The Wolfman,'' $9.8 million.

6. ``Dear John,'' $7.3 million.

7. ``The Tooth Fairy,'' $4.5 million.

8. ``Crazy Heart,'' $3 million.

9. ``From Paris With Love,'' $2.5 million.

10. ``Edge of Darkness,'' $2.2 million.

Audrina Patridge's Accused Stalker Arrested in LA

Police on Friday arrested a man prohibited from contacting Audrina Patridge outside the reality star's Los Angeles home.

Zachary Loring, 24, was arrested around 8 a.m. after was seen knocking on the door of "The Hills" star's home, Los Angeles police Sgt. Kyle Kirkman said.

Officers responded after receiving a 911 call and Loring was arrested without incident, Kirkman said. Loring was not carrying a weapon, he said.

Loring was being held Friday afternoon on $160,000 bail on suspicion of stalking and violating a court order. It was his second arrest outside Patridge's home.

Jail records did not indicate whether Loring has an attorney.

Rap star says he was one in Romney confrontation

A rapper with the Grammy-nominated club act LMFAO says former Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney first touched him — and not the other way around — during a confrontation aboard an Air Canada flight that was preparing to take off from Vancouver, British Columbia.

Sky Blu, whose given name is Skyler Gordy, says in a video posted Friday on TMZ.com that he was trying to go to sleep when he leaned his seat back in the coach section of a the Vancouver-to-Los Angeles flight Monday. He says Romney loudly told him several times to straighten it, as is required until takeoff under commercial flight regulations.

Then, he says, Romney reached forward and grabbed his shoulder.

"I just react — boom — get off me, you know," Gordy says in the video, taking a swing through the air as he speaks. "And I didn't take it any further than that. I just wanted the man not to touch me; that's it."

Gordy says that Romney's wife, Ann, screamed and that the plane returned to the gate before two police officers escorted him off. After being detained briefly, he was allowed to buy a ticket for another flight.

Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom had no comment Friday about whether Gordy was the man with whom Romney had the confrontation, but aides said this week that Romney told them he thought the other person was in a band.

Christine Wolff at Interscope Records confirmed that Gordy made the video, which also was posted on the group's Web site.

Air Canada referred calls to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Sgt. Rob Vermeulen confirmed there was an incident on the flight, but he refused to release the names of those involved because no one was arrested.

Shortly after the confrontation, Fehrnstrom said the passenger became "physically violent" with Romney, but the former Massachusetts governor did not retaliate and instead let the authorities deal with it.

Gordy says in the video that Romney grabbed him with a "condor grip," as a sidekick play-acts the scene and adds: "Vulcan grip."

Gordy then outlines his objection, saying, "I'm not your prey. I'm not a salmon going upstream. You're not going to rip me up."

The rapper says he was on the flight because he and his group, LMFAO, had been performing in Vancouver, where the Olympic Winter Games are being held. The Romneys were also there as special guests after Mitt Romney's work heading the 2002 Games in Salt Lake City.

Gordy says that after the plane pulled away from the gate, he put a jacket over his head and was trying to go to sleep when he felt "too upright."

After he reclined his seat, he says, he heard Romney say repeatedly and loudly, "Sir, sir, put your seat up."

Gordy says in the video that he pulled off his jacket, wondered whether Romney was being serious and then thought to himself, "If you ask nicely, I'll put it up."

But then things got physical, he says.

LMFAO, composed of Stefan Gordy and nephew Skyler, made their debut last year and are known for party music; they are best known for their club hit "I'm In Miami Trick." They were recently nominated for a Grammy for their debut CD, "Party Rock" and are the opening act on the current Black Eyed Peas tour.

Stefan Gordy is the son of Motown founder Berry Gordy. Skyler is Berry Gordy's grandson.

Sean Penn charged with battery

Actor-director Sean Penn was charged Friday with battery and vandalism charges stemming from an altercation with a photographer in Brentwood last fall.

Penn will be arraigned March 22 on the two misdemeanor charges, said Los Angeles city attorney's spokesman Frank Mateljan.

A phone message for Penn's attorney, Barry Hirsch, was not immediately returned.

Penn will not be required to appear in court if he is represented by an attorney.

Mateljan said Penn kicked a photographer during a dustup in October. The photographer's camera also was damaged. The incident was captured on a video posted by celebrity Web site TMZ.com in which Penn is seen kicking at a photographer and repeatedly telling the photographer to "get out."

If convicted, Penn could face up to 18 months in jail.

Penn is the latest actor charged in Los Angeles for altercations with the paparazzi. Charges against rapper Kanye West and actor Gerard Butler were recently dismissed after both men completed community service after scuffles with celebrity photographers.

West, who was charged after breaking a photographer's flash at Los Angeles International Airport in September 2008, also paid for the broken equipment.

Penn has won two best actor Oscars for roles in "Mystic River" and "Milk."

During the 1980s, he had several run-ins with photographers and a movie extra that resulted in a short jail stint. One of the incidents involved allegations Penn assaulted two photographers in Nashville, Tenn., in 1987. He pleaded no contest and received a suspended sentence.

The same year he received a 60-day jail sentence for punching an extra while filming "Colors." He was on probation at the time for hitting a man he thought tried to kiss his wife, singer Madonna.

Penn has remained out of legal troubles in recent years but has had a rocky relationship with his wife, Robin Wright Penn. They are currently involved in divorce proceedings in Northern California, although they have agreed on how to divide property. They had previously filed for divorce or separation twice before.

Kerry Katona dumps her husband

After 3 long years and a few hiccups on the way, it finally looks like it could be the end of Kerry Katona and her husband Mark Croft.

The Daily Mail Online has let the public know that after Croft accused Kerry of cheating on him, she’s the one who turned round and called the marriage to a stop – now that’s what I call irony.

Mark was convinced that she cheated on him at her fitness boot camp where she lost lots of weight. But maybe this accusation was just the green jealousy bug creeping out of Mark, because his wife had lost so much weight and the only logical thing that he could think of was that she must have cheated on him.

Who knows though, Kerry’s denying it and Mark’s been given the boot, who do we believe? A source from The Sun gave this impression of Mark.

Maybe Mark himself had a guilty conscious as from more information I found from the Daily Mail online, apparently on a holiday that he, Kerry and their children shared (a holiday that was supposed to decide whether the couple should stay together or not) he went and handled a stripper in a club more intimately then any married man should have done, whilst his family were waiting in the hotel for him.

So maybe Kerry’s decision for a break up may be what this man deserves, although they have already broken up a few times throughout the years, so this split could just be another in their troubled relationship.

Well, we are bound to soon find out soon if this split up is the final one! What do you think; do you believe Kerry should kick Mr. Croft firmly out of the house for good or do you think they should kiss, make up and try and solve their problems?

Kerry has lost some very lucrative deals (namely Iceland and her reality show on MTV) over the past year due to her reported cocaine habit. Hopefully everything works out for the kids.

Tiger Woods Apologizes

After his post-Thanksgiving car accident and the revelation of numerous extramarital affairs, Tiger Woods disappeared from public view late last year. But earlier this week, the world's most famous golfer re-emerged, and on Friday (February 19), he gave a televised press conference in which he addressed the controversy but declined to take questions from reporters.

In his almost 14-minute prepared statement, Woods apologized repeatedly for his infidelities, spoke of his work to reconcile with his wife Elin, rebutted salacious media reports about the night of the accident and admitted that he'd spent 45 days in an in-patient facility for therapy.

"I was unfaithful," Woods said. "I had affairs. I cheated. What I did is not acceptable, and I am the only person to blame."

Wearing a blue dress shirt and black sport coat, Woods spoke very slowly, at times stumbling over his words as he apologizing to his friends, fans, business partners and employees.

"I know I have bitterly disappointed all of you," he said. "I have made you question who I am and how I could have done the things I did. I am embarrassed that I have put you in this position. For all that I have done, I am so sorry."

While he struck a conciliatory tone during much of the statement, Woods also hit back against media reports about the events surrounding the accident. "Some people have speculated that Elin somehow hurt or attacked me on Thanksgiving night," he said. "It angers me that people would fabricate an episode like that. Elin never hit me that night or any other night. There has never been an episode of domestic violence in our marriage ever."

Blaming only himself for the media storm that has surrounded his entire family in the past months, Woods asked that his mother, wife and children be left alone. He said that he will not enumerate or address the specific affairs he had.

"It's hard to admit that I need help, but I do," he continued. "For 45 days, from the end of December to early February, I was in in-patient therapy, receiving guidance for the issues I'm facing. I have a long way to go, but I've taken my first steps in the right direction."

Woods announced that on Saturday, he'll return for more treatment. Speaking from the PGA headquarters in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, he talked of plans to return to professional golf at some point in the future, possibly in 2010. "I just don't know when that day will be.

"Today, I want to ask for your help," he said. "I ask you to one day find room in your heart to one day believe in me again."
