It's Over for Barbara Hershey and Naveen Andrews

They had a 21-year age difference and endured a strain that would have sunk any other relationship, and still Barbara Hershey and Naveen Andrews continued as one of Hollywood's more endearing couples.

But now comes word that it quietly ended for Hershey, 62, and Andrews, 41, six months ago. "They remain best of friends," Andrews's manager Renee Jennet tells PEOPLE.

In 1998, long before Andrews would go on to star in TV's Lost, the then-29-year-old actor met Hershey, then 50, a veteran of films such as Beaches and Hannah and Her Sisters, on the set of the obscure 1999 indie film Drowning on Dry Land.

They were together until a 2005 separation that was as brief as it was eventful: Andrews confirmed that during the split he fathered a child with another woman. Andrews and Hershey worked things out and continued their relationship until their breakup last year.

Jack Nicholson Asks Jessica Simpson Out

Actor Jack Nicholson has proved he's still a ladies' man - by asking buxom pop star Jessica Simpson on a date.

The Shining star has been linked to a number of actresses and models over the years, including Lara Flynn Boyle, Anjelica Huston and Michelle Phillips, and has fathered six children with different women.

But the Hollywood Lothario hasn't slowed down since turning 73 last month - he's reportedly invited 29-year-old singer Simpson to join him for an evening together.

Simpson, who declined the offer, tells Britain's The Sun, "I have no idea how Jack got my number as we've never met. He asked if I wanted to go to his Beverly Hills house for dinner."

Bret Michaels: I Would Make a Great Idol Judge

Ten songs into Bret Michaels‘s recent concert in Biloxi, Miss., the rocker casually mentioned, “I don’t know if it’s true, but I could possibly be a judge on American Idol.”

Though no formal job offer has been extended, departing judge Simon Cowell suggested Michaels as a replacement when chatting with reporters at the Idol finale party last week.

The 47-year-old Michaels had performed on the show that night alongside finalist Casey James despite suffering life-threatening health problems. “I was honored that Simon said that,” Michaels tells PEOPLE, “and I would be honored to do it.”

The Poison frontman says he has all the qualifications that 23 years in the rough-and-tumble music business brings.

“I’m talking old-school, paying-my-dues experience,” he says. “I used to move the pool table out of the way to play for people six nights a week, playing five sets a night, where I had to announce the dinner special. I grew up the old-fashioned way. I would have done anything to have a platform like American Idol when I was growing up.”

“For a lot of these young musicians, I’d be able to give them incredibly awesome and very, very real advice,” adds Michaels. “Not just the music, but their attitude and what it’s gonna take. Because everyone forgets one simple thing: Once you get chosen as the winner, you still have a big road ahead.”

Michaels already has quite the reality-show resume: He was a judge on Nashville Star, he wooed the ladies on three seasons of his own Rock of Love series, and he just won Celebrity Apprentice.

“I would bring my heart and my soul and amazingly honest and truthful advice,” he says. “And I would tell them if I thought their chances of making it were really slim — and how to fix that. Because my chances of making it were extremely slim. It’s come from brute determination.”

Guillermo del Toro Quits 'The Hobbit'

Guillermo del Toro has quit as director of troubled Lord Of The Rings prequel The Hobbit after the movie was put on hold indefinitely.

The Hellboy auteur was set to start shooting the fantasy film, based on J.R.R. Tolkien's first book, this summer, but the project has been thrown into jeopardy by the ongoing financial problems at MGM movie studio, which was put up for sale in 2009 after falling heavily into debt.

Last week, Del Toro revealed the highly anticipated film is on hold and has been caught up in "tangled negotiations" over the future of MGM. Now Del Toro has dealt the project another blow - he has walked away from the film, blaming the ongoing delays for his decision to quit.

In a statement, he says, "In light of ongoing delays in the setting of a start date for filming The Hobbit I am faced with the hardest decision of my life.

"After nearly two years of living, breathing and designing a world as rich as Tolkien's Middle Earth, I must, with great regret, take leave from helming these wonderful pictures.

"I've been privileged to work in one of the greatest countries on earth with some of the best people ever in our craft and my life will be forever changed. The blessings have been plenty, but the mounting pressures of conflicting schedules have overwhelmed the time slot originally allocated for the project."

Del Toro will remain involved in the project - he will stay on to work as a screenwriter.

Lord Of The Rings director Peter Jackson, who will produce two planned The Hobbit movies, reveals the extended time Del Toro would have to spend in New Zealand - where the project is to be filmed - was the real reason he stepped down.

Jackson tells fan website TheOneRing.net, "We feel very sad to see Guillermo leave The Hobbit, but he has kept us fully in the loop and we understand how the protracted development time on these two films, due to reasons beyond anyone's control - has compromised his commitment to other long term projects.

"The bottom line is that Guillermo just didn't feel he could commit six years to living in New Zealand, exclusively making these films, when his original commitment was for three years. Guillermo is one of the most remarkable creative spirits I've ever encountered and it has been a complete joy working with him."

Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon's Expecting New Addition To Their Family

Mariah Carey's husband Nick Cannon has confirmed the couple is expecting a new addition to their family - their pet dog is pregnant.

The actor/rapper and his superstar wife are rumored to be expecting their first child together after they were spotted leaving a fertility clinic in Los Angeles earlier this month.

Carey further fuelled the reports by mysteriously dropping out of Tyler Perry's next movie, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf, earlier this week.

Her representative revealed the decision was based on medical reasons, saying: "She is not doing the movie because her doctor advised her not to. More than that I cannot comment further."

And Cannon has failed to put a stop to the baby speculation by laughing off questions about Carey's reported condition and turning the attention to another member of their family.

When asked by E! News if Carey was pregnant, he laughed, "That's news to me!"

He then added, "I do want to make a big announcement... Russell Terrier puppy Zha Zha is pregnant again!"

Celine Dion pregnant again!

Celine Dion's struggle to have one more baby has more than paid off. She's pregnant with two.

Publicist Kim Jakwerth told the Associated Press in an e-mail Sunday that the 42-year-old Canadian songstress is 14 weeks pregnant with twins, and she plans to find out the sex of the babies next month.

Dion and her husband and manager Rene Angelil have one son, 9-year-old Rene Charles.

She had undergone several rounds of in-vitro fertilization in an attempt to get pregnant again.

The pregnancy was first reported by People Magazine.

Dion is working on new albums in English and French, and returns next year to Las Vegas for a three-year residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

'Shrek' better than 'Sex' with $43M at box office

Movie audiences are showing more appetite for Shrek than for sex over Memorial Day weekend.

DreamWorks Animation's sequel "Shrek Forever After" remained the No. 1 movie for a second weekend with $43.3 million from Friday to Sunday. The film raised its domestic total to $133.1 million.

That easily topped the Warner Bros. sequel "Sex and the City 2," which was No. 2 with a $32.1 million debut that came in far below the $56.8 million opening weekend of its predecessor two years ago. Along with a $14.2 million haul in its first day Thursday, "Sex and the City 2" has brought in $46.3 million.

Debuting at No. 3 with $30.2 million was Disney's action tale "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time."

Even with bad reviews and a running time of nearly two and a half hours for "Sex and the City 2," many in Hollywood had expected the sequel to open at No. 1.

But the fourth "Shrek" installment, itself opening far below the previous sequels, held up strongly in its second weekend. Family crowds continued to pack theaters for what is billed as the final big-screen tale featuring voice stars Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy and Antonio Banderas.

Women made up 90 percent of the audience for "Sex and the City 2," which reunites the stars of the HBO series — Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon — for an adventure in Abu Dhabi.

Dan Fellman, head of distribution for Warner Bros., estimated that "Sex and the City 2" will have taken in about $53 million in its first five days once Memorial Day receipts are counted.

While that would be less than the three-day opening weekend for the first movie, the sequel still could match the $152.6 million domestic total of "Sex and the City" if it holds up well in subsequent weekends, Fellman said.

"The numbers are the numbers, but it's a little unfair to go in the direction of trouble in River City until we have an opportunity to see how we leg it out," Fellman said. "We might end up getting there. It's just a different pattern than the first one."

DreamWorks is hoping for a lengthy shelf life on "Shrek Forever After," a fourth installment in the franchise that had critics wondering if audiences finally were growing tired of the big green ogre.

"We always knew with the fourth entry in particular that we were in some kind of unprecedented territory," said Anne Globe, head of marketing at DreamWorks. "There was really no game plan to follow."

The box office for "Shrek Forever After" slipped 39 percent from its opening weekend, compared with a 56 percent drop in the second weekend for the third "Shrek" flick.

The modest results for "Prince of Persia" leave the movie's franchise potential in doubt. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer, whose movies include the "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "National Treasure" series, was aiming for similar franchise treatment on "Prince of Persia."

Set in ancient times, the movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal as a king's adopted son accused of treachery and murder, who obtains a magic dagger that can turn back time.

Bandleader Kevin Eubanks ends 18 years with Leno

It's a wrap for "Tonight Show" bandleader Kevin Eubanks after 18 years backing up host Jay Leno.

"I don't think we've ever had an argument," Leno said, bidding Eubanks farewell on Friday's show. "We've had a lot of fun."

Eubanks, whose duties included comic sidekick to Leno as well as guitarist, had been aboard since Leno took over NBC's "Tonight" in 1992. Eubanks became musical director when Branford Marsalis left in 1995.

The 52-year-old Eubanks joined Leno last fall for the short-lived "The Jay Leno Show" in prime time, then came back to "Tonight" when Leno reclaimed the show from Conan O'Brien in March. O'Brien left NBC rather than move "Tonight" to a later slot to make room for Leno in late night.

In April, Eubanks announced his plans to depart, but he insisted the recent turmoil had played no part in his decision. He said he was seeking a career change of pace.

Exiting with Eubanks will be the other five members of the Tonight Show Band. They include vocalist and percussionist Vicki Randle, keyboardist Gerry Etkins, bass guitarist Derrick "Dock" Murdock, saxophonist Ralph Moore and drummer Marvin "Smitty" Smith.

"We have gone through all this together," said Eubanks, introducing and thanking them.

During the hourlong show, a clip reel highlighted comic moments Leno and Eubanks have shared through the years, then Eubanks was featured performing an original song.

He will be replaced by former "American Idol" music director Rickey Minor, who arrives with his own troupe June 7.

"The Tonight Show" will air reruns next week.

Heidi Montag Leaving Her Husband Spencer Pratt

Last Tuesday, "The Hills" starlet Heidi Montag left many a little confused after tweeting, "I am not Heidi Pratt, I am Heidi Montag" - but as it turns out, the 23-year-old is reportedly leaving her husband of 19 months, Spencer Pratt.

"Heidi is looking to move out due to all the fake bad press that Spencer controls. She's tired of it and is looking for a place and wants to focus on her acting career," a rep for Montag told TMZ, adding that she's currently searching for her own home in Malibu.

It certainly has been a tumultous marriage for the two - just recently they called the cops on Montag's mom who apparently showed up at their house uninvited, and earlier this year Pratt found himself in deep trouble for allegedly making terroristic threat against producers of the MTV reality show.

And a few weeks ago, a rep for Pratt told Pop Tarts that the two were doing their best to stay out of the spotlight in an attempt to restore their not-so-positive public profile.

"Due to all the negative press lately, they have decided to lay low for a while," said his rep.

A source close to the couple isn't surprised by the split, but surprised Miss Montag is finally making the move.

"I'm so happy for her," said our insider. "He was such a bad influence."

Another Pratt family friend agreed.

"I think the American public would agree they're better off apart. Heidi is off in her own crazy little world and Spencer is certifiably insane," said the source. "Heidi was his little puppet and its great that she is finally (separating from him). Their relationship always seemed so forced."

Joanna Garcia, Yankee Nick Swisher Engaged

Yankees outfielder Nick Swisher is set to tie the knot with gorgeous flame-tressed actress Joanna Garcia, the New York Post reported Saturday.

But it was not certain when or where the right fielder, a fan favorite since he came to The Bronx last season, would wed the "Gossip Girl" star.

As if to celebrate the good news, Swisher smacked a two-run homer in the second inning of Friday night's 8-2 victory against the Cleveland Indians.

"We kept it a secret for a while," said Swisher, who popped the question May 19. "She was wearing that big rock, though."

The 29-year-old slugger publicly acknowledged he was dating Garcia, 30, last September after reports said the couple was seen around the city.

Garcia, who will star this fall on new sitcom "Better Together," even rode alongside Swisher during the Yankees' ticker-tape parade last November after the team clinched its 27th World Series title.

The red-headed star was previously engaged to Justin Timberlake's business partner, Trace Ayala.

But Swisher is not the only Yankee with a starlet on his arm. Alex Rodriguez dated Kate Hudson last season and is currently linked to Cameron Diaz, and Derek Jeter is seeing "Friday Night Lights" star Minka Kelly.

Bret Michaels To Replace Simon Cowell On 'Idol?'

Bret Michaels has emerged as the new favorite to replace Simon Cowell as an "American Idol" judge after his triumphant performance on the live finale of the talent show on Wednesday night.

The Poison singer ignored his doctors' advice and took to the Idol stage for a duet with finalist Casey James.

The ailing rocker, who is still recovering from a near-fatal brain hemorrhage and a recent stroke, was an instant hit with fans, who gave him a standing ovation as he walked out to sing a rendition of Poison's "Every Rose Has Its Thorn."

And Cowell was left so impressed he's considering handing him his judging seat now that the Brit has quit the show after nine years on the panel.

He says, "Actually, he'd be good. He's funny. He's got experience. He'd be a good choice - and you saw the audience reaction to him. They love him."

And Michaels is hopeful he will be handed the job: "I'm sorry he (Cowell) has to go but sometimes things happen. Provided my health holds up, I think I'm taking that chair next year!"

Other celebrities who have been linked to the role include Quincy Jones, DJ Howard Stern, Madonna's partner and record boss Guy Oseary, Idol host Ryan Seacrest, Harry Connick, Jr. and the show's former judge Paula Abdul.

Emma Roberts Joins 'Scream 4'

Julia Roberts' actress niece Emma has joined the cast of the fourth "Scream" movie.

The 19 year old will join Courteney Cox, David Arquette and Neve Campbell in the sequel.

Roberts says, "I'm so excited to be part of this ground-breaking franchise. It's the perfect opportunity for me to do something completely different than I've ever done before."

The new horror movie will start shooting in Michigan next month.

Joan Rivers Defends 'Darling' Jesse James

Comedienne Joan Rivers has spoken out in defense of Sandra Bullock's shamed husband Jesse James, praising the TV mechanic for his kindly nature.

James has been at the center of a public backlash following revelations he cheated on his Oscar-winning wife, who walked out on him in March. He was further disgraced when a controversial picture of him wearing a military hat and giving a Nazi salute appeared in the press. James has since spoken out alleging the abuse he suffered at the hands of his father as a youngster contributed to his bad behavior as an adult.

Now Rivers, who appeared on The Celebrity Apprentice with James, admits she was shocked by the cheating claims - branding the situation "insane".

She says, "Jesse should have been in therapy years ago. I'm so sad because he's such a sweet guy. And when he starts telling you about what he came out of with his background you put two and two together. So you just hope, please God, get into therapy, which he is (doing) and try and pull your life together. Jesse was a darling and a gentleman. He was the one who carried your bag; he was the one who helped you up the stairs. Sweet, nice this whole thing is just insane."

New court date for Charlie Sheen over Aspen arrest

Actor Charlie Sheen has a new court date over domestic violence allegations involving his wife, as settlement talks continue.

Sheen has pleaded not guilty to menacing, criminal mischief and assault charges stemming from an argument with his wife, Brooke Mueller Sheen, on Christmas Day at an Aspen home where they were on vacation.

A hearing is scheduled June 18, but The Aspen Times reports that the court this week set another hearing for June 7.

Sheen's attorney Richard Cummins told the newspaper the hearing was set "in contemplation of a final disposition being made that's acceptable to the district attorney's office."

Aspen prosecutor Arnold Mordkin declined to comment on settlement discussions.

Gary Coleman on Life Support with Brain Hemorrhage

Gary Coleman has suffered a brain hemorrhage and his condition has progressively worsened, says his manager.

The 42-year-old Diff'rent Strokes star is now unconscious and on life support. His wife is at his side in the hospital.

The actor hurt his head Wednesday when he fell in his Utah home, and was taken to a local hospital. He was then transferred to the intensive care unit at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.

"He's unconscious and on life support at the moment," his manager John Alcantar tells PEOPLE. "He had a brain hemorrhage and he was lucid but he went unconscious [Thursday] afternoon."

Mariah Carey Quit Tyler Perry Film For Medical Reasons

Mariah Carey's spokesperson has sparked further speculation she's pregnant, after confirming the star pulled out of a new film on doctor's orders.

The singer surprised fans after mysteriously dropping out of Tyler Perry's next movie - but now her rep reveals the decision was based on medical reasons. Her publicist tells UsMagazine.com, "She is not doing the movie because her doctor advised her not to. More than that I cannot comment further."

Filming on Perry's For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf was due to begin in June.

Carey, 41, and her husband Nick Cannon have been repeatedly dogged by new baby rumors this year. A new round of reports began on May 11th after Carey was spotted leaving a fertility clinic in Los Angeles.

Bret Michaels Didn't Tell Doctors About 'Idol' Gig

Bret Michaels stunned his doctors by performing on American Idol on Wednesday night - the recovering rocker refused to ask their permission before appearing at the live finale.

The Poison star's health has been flagging in the last two months - he has suffered an emergency appendectomy, a stroke and a near-fatal brain hemorrhage. Last week he was diagnosed with a hole in his heart.

However, Michaels bravely took the stage at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Wednesday, where he performed a duet with one of the Idol contestants.

Speaking before the show, he told UsMagazine.com, "The doctors, I didn't tell them I was going to do this. I never told them I was coming here. They're going to find out in a few minutes! I may not have told (my family) either. Here's the thing, they have not said everything's OK. I'm running about 75 per cent realistically, physically, but in my soul and my heart, I feel great. I needed to do this tonight, just to come here."

"To be honest, there's still obviously a lot of pain I'm still experiencing... (but) I feel great. It's my first musical performance back (in the spotlight) and after this, I'm hoping to go out on the road, and I'm really looking forward to it. Later on, I may collapse, but right now, I feel great."

Michaels received a standing ovation for his rendition of Poison's Every Rose Has Its Thorn.

Gary Coleman Hospitalized In Utah

Former child star Gary Coleman has been hospitalized in Utah, according to reports.

The former Diff'rent Strokes actor, 42, was admitted to a medical facility on Wednesday and underwent surgery for a mystery illness, reports TMZ.com.

Further details were unavailable as WENN went to press and the star's agent, Robert Malcolm, had yet to respond to requests for a comment.

Coleman, who suffers from a congenital kidney disease which requires frequent dialysis, has faced a string of health problems in recent months - he was hospitalized in January and again in February after suffering apparent seizures.

Crystal Bowersox and Boyfriend Split Before Idol Finale

When Crystal Bowersox belted out a moving rendition of Patty Griffin‘s “Up to the Mountain” on the first night of the American Idol finale, the singer drew from her own raw emotions after what she says was a “hard morning.”

“[My boyfriend] Tony, he went home. He wasn’t cool with the lifestyle,” the Elliston, Ohio, native revealed Thursday morning on Ryan Seacrest‘s 102.7 KIIS-FM radio show.

The decision to break up just hours before the final performance night, Bowersox says, was completely mutual.

“We’re both logical, grown adults,” she said. “He’s a small town guy and it’s fine. But I’m a small town girl but I want this. I want this more than anything — this career, this lifestyle. I didn’t think he was up for it. He didn’t think he was up for it.”

Her boyfriend, Tony Kusian, 26, spoke with PEOPLE during Crystal’s hometown visit about life in Los Angeles, where Idol is produced. “It’s kind of tough at times but you get used to it and we’re all happy. Some days are more fun than others,” he said. “But it’s been hard to find friends out there. I want to keep it low key. I don’t need the attention.”

Though she’s “a little sad” they parted ways on one of the most pivotal moments of her Idol journey, Bowersox has no hard feelings. “He’s been amazing,” she says. “He stuck it out through this whole thing.”

Already a veteran in the business, judge Kara DioGuardi, who appeared with Bowersox on the radio show, offered some advice to the runner-up. “You have to do your music,” she her. “It’s not a choice for you. It’s what makes you whole. If somebody can’t hang with that — I’m sure he’s a lovely guy but right now this is your dream.”

And while she’s disappointed about the breakup, the even-keeled singer says she isn’t mad. In fact, she says, “We’re going to be friends for a long time.”

Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz Are Engaged – and Expecting!

A wedding and a baby are on the way for Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz.

The musicians "are expecting a baby and are engaged to be married in a private ceremony later this year," reps for the couple confirm to PEOPLE.

The announcement comes after the two, together since fall 2008, attended Thursday night's Black Ball in London, which benefits Keys's Keep a Child Alive charity.

"They're very happy," says a friend of the couple.

Rapper Swizz Beatz (real name: Kasseem Dean), 31, has produced music for Keys, 29, and worked with artists including Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez and Gwen Stefani.

It will be the first marriage for Grammy-winner Keys – and their first child together. Swizz Beatz is father to Kasseem Jr., 3, and son Prince, both from previous relationships.

Sandra Bullock To Be Honored At MTV Movie Awards

Sandra Bullock will make her first public appearance following her split from husband Jesse James at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards next month.

The Oscar winner will be honored with a MTV Generation Award at the big show in Los Angeles, and event insiders claim the actress will be there in person.

The Generation Award is given to movie stars who have entertained generations of the youth network's audience over the last two decades. She will be the first female to receive the honor.

Travoltas' Rep Slams 'False' Twins Reports

John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston's representative has slammed reports the pair is expecting twins. The Pulp Fiction star confirmed Preston was pregnant last week; prompting rumors the couple will welcome twin boys when the actress gives birth later this year.

However, now a spokesperson for the Travoltas has refuted the claims, insisting they are only expecting one new addition to their family.

The representative tells Access Hollywood, "Totally false. It's not true. They are not having twins."

The Travoltas lost their 16-year-old son Jett at the beginning of last year after he suffered a seizure. They are also parents to 10-year-old daughter Ella.

How DeWyze won 'American Idol'

Lee DeWyze, the bashful paint sales clerk championed early by the biting British judge on the Fox singing contest, was crowned "Idol" on Wednesday over single mother Crystal Bowersox. His victory was based on votes cast after Tuesday's performances, which drew more acclaim from the judges for Bowersox, though DeWyze was Cowell's favorite from the outset.

DeWyze knew it, too. Back during Hollywood Week, the show's rapid-fire post-audition phase, he took note of Cowell tapping along as he crooned The Fray's "You Found Me." It became clearer after his rendition of Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars" during the first round of the semifinals that Cowell was pushing for the throaty underdog from Mount Prospect, Ill.

"I fought for you to be here," he told DeWyze. "I still believe in you."

Such affirmations helped the unassuming rocker to overcome his shortcomings, namely a lack of self-confidence, to take down Bowersox, arguably the ninth season's most powerful singer. Despite his innate shyness, DeWyze solidified himself as a contender early in the finals with deft takes on The Box Tops' "The Letter" and the Rolling Stones' "Beast of Burden."

"You are growing faster than anybody on this stage," Kara DioGuardi told him.

Indeed, DeWyze was always on the ascent, powering through walking pneumonia for the Cornelius Brothers' "Treat Her Like a Lady," and making everyone take notice when he unexpectedly dueted with a bagpipe player on The Beatles' "Hey Jude." The sheepish vocalist struggled more at conversing with Ryan Seacrest and maneuvering through the group routines than singing.

The panel wasn't just satisfied with DeWyze's raspy tone. Panelists demanded to see the scruffy, 24-year-old singer smile. He finally flashed them a goofy grin and started to hit a stride after Elvis Presley's "A Little Less Conversation." Meanwhile, Bowersox began to fumble when tasked with out-of-her-element genres. Still, her spot on the finale always seemed certain.

When the dreadlocked 24-year-old musician first belted out "Piece of My Heart" at her audition, Bowersox felt like a folksy singer who could appeal to the masses. She possibly peaked early in the semifinals with unapologetically flawless versions of Alanis Morissette's "Hand in My Pocket" and Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Long As I Can See the Light."

"We need you here," Ellen DeGeneres declared at that point.

However, DeWyze managed to swirl flavors from the previous two "Idol" champs — Kris Allen's boyishly reserved stage presence and David Cook's rocker-next-door musical stylings — to create a palette pleasing to the biggest bloc of "Idol" voters, namely the howlers looking for their next heartthrob who made certain DeyWyze never appeared as low vote getter.

Besting top seed Bowersox may have made DeWyze's win taste sweeter, but don't call it an upset. Several online outfits predicted he would take home the top prize: the "Idol" title and a record contract. DialIdol.com, which tracks busy signals on the separate phone lines dedicated to each contestant, correctly projected DeWyze as the winner Wednesday morning.

"This isn't about, 'Oh, I want to be the next big thing,' and then be gone," he said backstage after winning. "I want to do this for a long time, and that's really important to me — stay true to myself, and just make good music."

DeWyze's future success, as with all "Idol" winners before him, will be determined by record sales, not viewer votes. With his rock-infused singer-songwriter leanings, DeWyze has the potential, like eighth season winner Allen, to be eclipsed by a more daring runner-up or, in the case of fifth season fourth-place finisher Chris Daughtry, to rock out on his own.

Mariah Carey Quits Tyler Perry Film; Fuels Pregnancy Rumors

Mariah Carey has fueled reports she's pregnant after mysteriously pulling out of a new movie.

The singer was slated to follow up her success in Precious by appearing in an upcoming Tyler Perry film, but Carey has quit the project.

Perry's movie adaptation of Ntozake Shange's 1975 play "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf" was set to start shooting in June.

Asked for a reason behind Carey's decision, the star's publicist Cindy Berger tells People.com, "I'm not at liberty to discuss her personal life at this time."

Carey, 41, and her husband Nick Cannon have been dogged by new baby rumors this year.

Recent reports suggested the superstar is undergoing fertility treatment in an effort to conceive her first child.

Berger was forced to deny speculation Carey was already pregnant after the singer hinted she had "something else very special on the way" at the Independent Spirit Awards in March.

Carey was spotted leaving a fertility clinic in Los Angeles on May 11.

Nicole Richie & Joel Madden Plan Autumn Wedding

Joel Madden and Nicole Richie will wed this autumn at a luxurious spa resort in California, according to the latest reports.

Good Charlotte rocker Madden announced in February that he had proposed in secret last year, and the couple has hired Mindy Weiss, the wedding planner responsible for Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz's nuptials, to mastermind their big day.

A source tells Star magazine, "Nicole is leaving the big details to her wedding planner...Nicole's dad, Lionel, offered his Beverly Hills mansion (for the ceremony), but she and Joel want it to be in Santa Barbara, at the Bacara Resort and Spa. She's already planning to spend the day before in a spa with her girlfriends."

And the creative socialite, who runs her own fashion range, is designing her own wedding dress.

The insider says, "She wants something loose and not too formal because her kids are going to be in the wedding. They're a handful!"

Madden and Richie are parents to daughter Harlow, two, and son Sparrow, eight months.

Brody Jenner Saves Avril Lavigne From Drowning

Pop punk Avril Lavigne has a real-life hero in beau Brody Jenner - "The Hills" star saved her from drowning during a recent surfing lesson.

The "Sk8er Boi" hitmaker, who has been linked to Jenner since February, was enjoying a personal lesson from the reality TV star in Malibu, California when she was knocked off her surfboard.

But Lavigne was in safe hands - Jenner rushed over to the singer and helped her to the shore, where she recovered from the sea scare, reports Star magazine.

A source says, "A big wave flipped her into the water upside down. Brody swam over and dragged Avril to shore, but she'd had the wind knocked out of her - she'd swallowed a bunch of water and was coughing. When Avril realized what happened, she was so thankful Brody was there to save her."

Lavigne split from husband Deryck Whibley last year.

Disney dumps SoapNet to make way for kids network

The company will launch Disney Junior, a 24-hour channel devoted to youngsters aged 2-7. The move will expand Disney Channel's current daytime programing block, Playhouse Disney, into its own network. The network will debut in 2012, taking advantage of the 75-million-home distribution of SoapNet.

"SoapNet was created in 2000 to give daytime viewers the ability to watch time-shifted soaps, before multiplatform viewing and DVRs were part of our vocabulary," said Anne Sweeney, co-chair, Disney Media Networks. "But today, as technology and our businesses evolve, it makes more sense to align this distribution with a preschool channel that builds on the core strengths of our company."

SoapNet mainly airs repeats of broadcast network daytime soap operas, particularly ABC programs, such as "All My Children" and "One Life to Live," as well as more contemporary titles like "One Tree Hill" and "Gilmore Girls."

With daytime soaps a dying breed on broadcast, and the kids TV market booming, it's no surprise Disney would shift the channel to target younger viewers.

Disney Junior will launch with 200 episodes annually of new series and current Playhouse Disney titles such as "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse," "Handy Manny" and "Jungle Junction," as well as showcase classic Disney movies such as "Little Mermaid."

Kendra Wilkinson: 'It's Going To Be Really Hard'

Former Playboy Playmate Kendra Wilkinson has opened up about her heartbreak over the imminent release of her sex tape - insisting it's the "hardest thing to deal with."

Hugh Hefner's ex-girlfriend's lawyers have sent a legal notice to bosses at adult film distributors Vivid Entertainment warning them they will be violating her right to privacy if they go ahead with the launch of the explicit video. The busty blonde is believed to have filmed the tape six years ago with an ex-boyfriend, who has not been identified.

However, Vivid Entertainment boss Steven Hirsch is refusing to back down and is confident the sex tape was obtained lawfully. Wilkinson has been working hard to clean up her image since her 2009 marriage to football "star" Hank Bassett III and becoming a mom to a baby boy in December. And now she's spoken out about the sex tape, revealing her husband has been helping her get through the scandal.

Speaking on her E! show Kendra, to be aired on the program's finale on May 31st, she says, "He's doing a good job because he's understanding. He's like, 'Kendra, we just have to hold our heads high because, yeah, we're going to get attacked, but we can't run.' That was me, but that's not me now. It broke my heart because how can (someone) do that when I have a baby? It just sucks. It's the hardest thing to deal with right now. It's going to be really hard. It's going to probably be the hardest time of our lives."

Serena Williams And Common Split?

Rapper Common and tennis pro Serena Williams have called time on their two-year relationship, according to a report.

The hip-hop star and the sportswoman are said to have ended their romance and gone their separate ways after they "just grew apart," according to In Touch Weekly magazine.

The couple made a red carpet appearance together in April, but Common's mom was his date to the premiere of his romantic comedy movie Just Wright on May 4th.

Common spoke openly about his love life earlier this month when he appeared on TV, telling talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, "I definitely want to get married. I would love to get married and have kids."

Aaron Carter: 'Lindsay Lohan Deserves Her Punishment'

Aaron Carter is pleased Lindsay Lohan has been strapped with an alcohol-monitoring ankle bracelet, insisting his ex-girlfriend "deserves" the punishment.

The Mean Girls star has been forbidden from leaving California and must now wear the device, which alerts authorities if she consumes booze, after a judge ordered her to refrain from drinking or taking illegal drugs for the foreseeable future.

The sentencing stems from a 2007 arrest during a turbulent period of the actress' life which saw her detained several times on driving under the influence charges and accused of taking three men hostage during a drunken drive through Malibu, California. And pop star Carter, who dated Lohan in 2002, wholeheartedly approves of the judge's ruling, insisting "an example" should be made of his former lover.

He tells OKMagazine.com, "It hurts me to see that. I hope she can really learn something from this. They are going to make an example of you now, Lindsay, and you deserve it. You don't get in the car with two people and go chasing after your assistant going a hundred miles an hour down PCH (Pacific Coast Highway)."

And Carter - younger brother of Backstreet Boys star Nick - has also voiced his support for Lohan's estranged dad Michael, branding him a "very good man."

He adds, "Michael Lohan is a very good man. He was thrown under the bus very bad by that family. It takes a man to keep a family strong sometimes. I would go and find her dad. I wouldn't even care about finding her mother."

Ellen DeGeneres Launches Her Own Record Label

Comedienne-turned-TV personality Ellen DeGeneres has launched her own record label and her first signing is YouTube.com sensation Greyson Chance.

Chance made his TV debut on the American Idol judge's talk show earlier this month and he'll return on Wednesday to help DeGeneres launch her latest project, eleveneleven Records. The singer shot to fame when his performance of Lady Gaga's Paparazzi at a church talent show was posted online.

DeGeneres says, "Greyson inspired me to start a record label called eleveneleven. He is my first artist and we are making a record together." The youngster has some impressive names behind him - Madonna's manager Guy Oseary and Lady Gaga's Svengali Troy Carter will co-represent Chance.

Chance can't believe the whirlwind of the last two weeks - since his video first appeared on YouTube.com. He says, "It's crazy thinking about 30 million people (checking it out). It just makes me happy. It really just hasn't sunken in yet... It's awesome."

Chance will perform his original song Broken Hearts, which will be his first single, on Wednesday's Ellen.

Nicole Scherzinger: Winning DWTS Is ‘Life-Changing’

All season long, Nicole Scherzinger and her partner, Derek Hough, out-tangoed, out-quick stepped and out paso dobled the competition. During the Dancing With the Stars finale Tuesday night, the two earned the distinction of unanimous praise from all three of the judges, who called the pop singer the best dancer in the show’s history.

“I’m totally emotional,” Hough told PEOPLE moments after the show ended. “Nicole and I burst out into tears backstage after our Argentine tango. We were so overwhelmed with how happy we were with what was going on tonight. Win, lose, draw we were going to be happy. But to win is phenomenal.”

“I’m kind of speechless right now,” confessed Scherzinger, who helped Hough earn his second mirror ball trophy (he captured the season six title with new co-host Brooke Burke). “I’m going to go into a room and cry. It’s not about the trophy. It’s beyond the trophy. The experience and the challenge and everything you go through — it’s a lot of life-changing experiences in three months and it’s just so intense.”

And the pair may work together again, Hough says, laughing. Scherzinger is working on a solo album and Hough “will be in the back in the videos wearing my lime green rhinestones,” she says.

Meanwhile, there were no hard feelings from talented runners-up Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya.

“We feel like we haven’t left anything on the table,” Lysacek said. “We all gave it our best shot, but Derek and Nicole were the best from day one. They inspired all of us and kept it going week after week and we’re very happy for them.”

ESPN correspondent Erin Andrews clung to partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy after the show, grateful for his friendship and support.

“I was a mess when I came here,” Andrews, the victim of a stalking scandal, said, her eyes welling with tears. “He was exactly what I needed.”

Like Lysacek, Andrews was thrilled to compete in the finale, and humbled by the experience.

“I am one of the best at what I do and you come into this and all of a sudden you’re not the best any more,” she said. “You just feel insecure, humbled, you’re getting criticized and corrected and it was a lot of medicine to swallow. And I had a lot to deal with off the ballroom floor. It was the perfect thing to happen to me.”

“And the season flew by,” Chmerkovskiy says. “It was blur, blur, blur. Scream, scream, loud noises, and the winner is Derek and Nicole! This did not feel like three months, it felt like three weeks.”

And, adds Lysacek, “I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.”

Victoria Beckham: 'Our Marriage Is Not A Sham'

Victoria Beckham has spoken out to address rumors her marriage to soccer star David never recovered from an affair allegation in 2004 - insisting their union is "absolutely not a business arrangement."

The former Spice Girl wed the sportsman in 1999, but five years later the union was allegedly rocked after the Los Angeles Galaxy player was accused of having a four-month romance with his personal assistant Rebecca Loos. Beckham branded the allegation "ludicrous" and the couple appeared to put the scandal behind them, but online gossips have long speculated they only kept their marriage intact for the sake of their three children and their business empire.

However, Victoria is adamant she never believed the allegation and has never let the lurid tales affect their relationship.

She tells Britain's OK! magazine, "I know David has never cheated on me. I really do believe deep down that I have the most faithful husband I could hope for. I can honestly say I am really lucky to have him. I couldn't live a lie and it would be unfair on the children. We are working on things together but our marriage is absolutely not a business arrangement. Could you, for all the money in the world? I couldn't."

Mindy McCready Hospitalized with Mystery Ailment

Mindy McCready was taken to Cape Coral Hospital in Florida Tuesday morning but the "diagnosis has not yet been confirmed," her lawyer said in a statement.

No other details about the 34-year-old country singer's hospitalization were immediately available.

The hospitalization comes less than two years after McCready was taken to a hospital after an apparent suicide attempt in December and entered rehab for undisclosed reasons.

Joe Jonas & Demi Lovato: We're Still Friends

They're no longer a couple, but Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato say they'll remain close.

"Demi and I knew going into our romantic relationship that it may not be an easy one," Jonas, 20, tells PEOPLE. "I realize over the time we have shared together that I feel I care more about our friendship right now. It was my choice to break up but I love her as a friend. She's been there for me when I needed her. I will continue to be her friend and be there for her."

Lovato, 17, took to Twitter to shoot down what she labeled erroneous reports.

"There are so many crazy rumors flying around today," she writes. "I'd like to clear a few things up. First, Joe and I did split but it wasn't over the phone. Things didn't work out but we'll remain friends. Secondly, I am NOT dating anybody already. Nothing is more important to me than the relationship I have with my fans. Just thought you guys should know this."

The pair, who first met on the set of Camp Rock in 2007 and went public with their relationship in March, will still tour together, starting July 27 in Dallas.

Sandra Bullock Was 'Proud' When I Went to Rehab, Claims Jesse James

Even after he chronically deceived his wife during their marriage, Jesse James claims that Sandra Bullock found it in her heart to feel some measure of pride when he chose to seek treatment in rehab.

"I just told her I was going to get some help," James tells ABC's Nightline in an interview airing Tuesday.

He says Bullock agreed, and that she was "proud" of him for seeking help.

The West Coast Choppers garage owner, 41, says the revelations of his cheating might not have come as a total surprise to his Oscar-winning wife, 45. "I think she's had her suspicions in the past, but, you know, I lied and lied my way out of it," he says. "I lied to everyone about everything, even to myself."

When the scandal broke, James says he told Bullock "basically everything" about his transgressions.

James also denies he is racist, despite the photo that emerged while he was in rehab showing him in a Nazi hat and pose. "I could tell by the look on my face [in the photo] it was a joke that was funny then, probably for a minute. But then looking at it in the context of now and in my life, it's not funny," he says. "There's not a racist bone in my body."

He adds: "Dealing with losing my marriage and my son and embarrassing everyone and decimating my life … to be called a racist on top of that is, it makes me really sad."

U2 pulls out of Glastonbury after Bono injured

U2's debut gig at Britain's iconic Glastonbury festival has been canceled because of lead singer Bono's back injury.

Concert promoters Live Nation said Tuesday that the North American leg of U2's tour will be postponed until 2011.

Festival organizers said Bono called founder Michael Eavis to tell him. In a statement on Glastonbury's Web site, Eavis said it "was obvious from our telephone conversation that U2 are hugely disappointed."

A replacement headlining act has not been announced. The festival, which runs June 23-27, attracts more than 175,000 people.

Bono, whose real name is Paul Hewson, underwent emergency spine surgery Friday in Munich. He has been released from hospital but doctors recommend at least two months rest.

Christina Aguilera postpones summer tour to 2011

Christina Aguilera feels she needs more time to prepare for her upcoming tour, so she has postponed it.

A statement from the singer's rep says the summer tour has been moved to 2011 because she is busy with her debut film, "Burlesque," and her new album, "Bionic." The film is due in November, the album on June 8.

The 20-city tour was to kick off July 15 in Uncasville, Conn., and wrap up Aug. 19 in Irvine, Calif. British singer Leona Lewis was set to open.

The statement says with so little time between the album release and tour date she wouldn't have to rehearse the show.

A new tour will be announced later this year, and ticket refunds are available.

Autopsy results expected soon on Slipknot bassist

Police say they hope to have autopsy results "fairly quickly" on Paul Gray, the bassist for Grammy-winning metal band Slipknot.

The 38-year-old Gray was found dead Monday in a hotel room in the Des Moines suburb of Urbandale. There was no indication of foul play.

Urbandale police Sgt. Dave Disney says the Polk County medical examiner's office started the autopsy Tuesday morning.

Disney says because of the interest in Gray's death, he hopes the results, including toxicology tests, can be expedited and made available later Tuesday.

A hotel employee found Gray dead in a room at the TownePlace Suites.

Disney declined to say where Gray was found or to provide details about what was in the room.

Britney Spears Is The Twitter Queen

Britney Spears has overtaken Ashton Kutcher as the most popular celebrity on Twitter.com - the singer now has the highest amount of followers on the microblogging site.

The Just Married star has been an outspoken fan of the forum since 2008 and was the first member to reach one million supporters.

But now the Toxic hitmaker has overtaken Kutcher - Spears has 4,955,768 followers compared to the actor's 4,944,221 online fans.

And the singer is ecstatic about the news - in a post on the social networking site she writes, "This is really amazing! I love you all! I better get busy writing 4,947,608 thank you notes! U guys make me sooo happy (sic)."

Kutcher is adamant he's not bothered about Spears succeeding him as Twitter's top tweeter - he was left unimpressed when he was asked about her followers during a press junket for his new film Killers.

In a message on his Twitter.com blog, he writes, "2nd most pop Q 'What do U think about Brittney having more followers than u?' Answer: 'I don't care. Aren't u suppose 2B a movie reporter?' (sic)."

Heidi Montag's Twitter Therapy: 'I Have No Friends'

Looks like Heidi Montag is back to pulling one of her publicity stunts! Late last night, the 23-year-old reality star relieved her bottled up emotions with a free therapy sesh via Twitter. Tacky, don't you think? The Hills beauty tweeted:

"My last surgery was the BEST decision of my life! Anything else anyone says (family members who are trying to make money off of me) is a lie! I have never felt sexier, happier, or more amazing in my own skin. I truly look the way I have always dreamed. I love America and freedom! You will get to know the true me and my REAL life VERY soon, under all my plastic haha! Not the superficial "me" you read about and watch!!!"

Think that was intense? Get ready… she didn’t stop there: "P.S. I HAVE NO FRIENDS, the ones who are pretending to be 'friends' or 'family' are crazy, angry, broke, and bitter. This is why they haven't been in my life for years! LIARS!"

OK - either all that silicone has gone to her head or Spencer had something to do with this. Either way, it sounds like Speidi isn’t going anywhere, anytime soon… joy.

Courtney Love Offered $162 Million For Nirvana's Back Catalog

Courtney Love has been offered a staggering $162 million for her majority stake in Nirvana's back catalog.

The Hole frontwoman inherited the band's publishing rights when her husband and Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994.

She sold off 25 percent of the "End of Music" catalog in 2006, pocketing $50 million, but Love recently admitted she was considering offloading her remaining 75 percent share after becoming convinced the royalty payments she receives are "cursed."

She insisted the decision was motivated by emotions, not financial gain, because she simply wants to move on from the Cobain tragedy.

She said, "I'm thinking about selling off all of Kurt's publishing. All of the rights, everything. It's not a financial decision; it's an emotional one. He was the best friend I've ever had, but Kurt and I were only married for three years, and now I need to have my own life. I'm always 'the widow' and that drives me nuts. That money has been cursed since the day it started to come in. It's not really my money."

Executives at Evergreen Capital are keen to relieve Love of her worries and have stepped up with the big money offer, reports the New York Daily News.

A source says, "Courtney thinks the catalog comes with too many memories. It's haunted."

Love has yet to respond to the offer.

Joe Jonas is back on the market!

The singer, 20, and girlfriend Demi Lovato, 17, have called it quits, a source tells PEOPLE, but will still be hitting the road together this summer, starting July 27 in Dallas.

The pair, who went public with their relationship in March, first met on the set of Camp Rock in 2007; Lovato toured with the Jonas Brothers the following year.

The pair recently spoke to PEOPLE, and Lovato said she was looking forward to touring with the Jonas Brothers this summer.

"I'm fortunate that I get to work with the person that I'm in the relationship with," she said. "Rather than being across the country and texting him, I can have him hold my hand when I'm tired."

Jonas, meanwhile, shed light on how their friendship became a romance. "I think after the movie was complete, then we kind of took the time to get to know each other a little deeper," he said.

CBS dance series gives big role to Paula Abdul

As Simon Cowell leaves the reality-show judge's chair, his old foil, Paula Abdul, is coming back.

CBS said Monday that Abdul will be a judge on "Got to Dance," a competition expected to make it on the air sometime next season. She'll also be an executive producer for the series, which is based on a successful competition that airs in Britain.

Cowell is leaving "American Idol" after this season, concentrating on another show he'll import from England. He had a love-hate relationship with Abdul, who left Fox's top-rated game before the current season when she couldn't reach a deal on a new contract. She's been fielding other offers since then.

There's no immediate word on when "Got to Dance," which will feature various forms of dancing, will go on the air

Lohan ordered to wear alcohol monitoring bracelet

Lindsay Lohan left court Monday with a heavy new piece of jewelry, but it wasn't her favorite kind of bling.

Lohan sported an ugly, alcohol-monitoring ankle bracelet that came with tough restrictions on her probation that could cut into her career plans.

The measures were ordered after Lohan angered Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel by failing to show up for a hearing last week in Beverly Hills and instead attended the Cannes Film Festival in France.

Photos from Cannes showed the actress partying on a yacht into the late hours on the day she was supposed to be in court in Beverly Hills.

A bench warrant was issued for her arrest then lifted when her lawyer posted bail and Lohan flew back to the United States over the weekend.

Lohan's lawyer said the actress had her passport stolen in Canne and couldn't travel in time to attend the hearing.

Lohan, wearing a dark gray pants suit, arrived in court a few minutes late and appeared somber and concerned when she conferred with her attorney about the move to attach the bracelet and require drug and alcohol testing every week in the Los Angeles area.

The bracelet gets a signal through the skin if a person has been drinking and sends the signal to the company that monitors it, court spokesman Alan Parachini said.

The actress has been on probation since August 2007 after pleading guilty to misdemeanor drug charges and no contest to three driving charges.

Earlier that summer, Lohan had spent more than six weeks at Promises Malibu Alcohol and Drug Rehab Treatment Facility.

When she left, Lohan agreed to wear an alcohol-monitoring bracelet so there would be no questions about her sobriety if she chose to go dancing or dining in a place where alcohol was served, publicist Leslie Sloane Zelnik said at the time.

Lohan's attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, told Judge Revel on Monday that Lohan was planning to travel to Texas to film a movie titled "Machete."

Revel suggested the actress might have to delay the project and was unmoved when Holley suggested Lohan could fulfill the latest probation requirements in Texas.

Revel stressed that she was prepared to spend a half-hour reading Lohan and Holley a list of her reasons for ordering the bracelet, drug tests and an alcohol-education program.

Holley conferred with Lohan then accepted the judge's decision.

Asked if she understood the orders, Lohan said quietly, "Yes, your honor." It was her only statement in court.

Holley noted that Lohan had missed one previous hearing after he uncle died.

"Did she attend the funeral?" the judge asked coldly. Holley turned to Lohan, who sadly shook her head no.

Lohan, 23, did not address a throng of media outside the courthouse before joining Holley at the hearing. The actress rushed past the media on her way out, leaving in a waiting SUV.

On Monday, Revel set a probation violation hearing for July 6 to address Lohan's failure to appear in court last week for a scheduled progress report on the probation stemming from the two high-profile arrests.

Lohan, who gained fame in the movies, "Mean Girls" and "The Parent Trap," has provided the tabloid media with lots of fodder with her personal escapades. She spent more than two hours after the hearing waiting for a bracelet to be placed on her ankle. Lohan must wear the bracelet until the July hearing, when the judge will decide if it will remain in place, Parachini said.

Lohan was to be arrested upon her return to Los Angeles for missing the mandatory hearing, but the judge recalled the warrant late Thursday after Lohan posted bail.

Holley said Lohan's passport was stolen and she had proof Lohan had an airplane ticket to return for that hearing.

'Glee' Gets A Third Season

TV musical Glee has proved to be such a huge hit worldwide, network bosses have already commissioned a third season of the show - just weeks after the cast and crew wrapped filming on the first series.

The program, which follows an all-singing, all-dancing choir at a fictional Ohio high school, debuted last year and has become a global phenomenon. The series has won a slew of awards and has a big celebrity following, with fans including Jennifer Lopez and Madonna, who was the focus of a special tribute episode last month.

Producers at Fox commissioned a second season earlier this year and they are so keen to secure the comedy/drama for another year, they've extended its contract once more - even though the stars have yet to begin shooting the second season. Fox chairman Peter Rice says, "In just one year, Glee has transcended the television landscape and emerged as a global pop-culture phenomenon."

Fox president Kevin Reilly adds, "Glee has one of the most active, devoted fan bases I've ever seen, and we couldn't be more thrilled to give Gleeks a third season of their favorite show."

The first series of Glee, which stars Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Cory Monteith and Jane Lynch, wraps on June 8th. The show attracts an average of 13.3 million viewers in America each week.

'Ghost Whisperer' Is Not Dead?

Jennifer Love Hewitt's spooky TV series Ghost Whisperer has been brought back from the dead - TV executives at ABC have given the show a lifeline. The long-running drama was axed last week as part of a sweep by executives at CBS.

However, Hewitt's co-star and ex-boyfriend Jamie Kennedy has revealed there is still "life" in the program after ABC chiefs expressed interest in picking up Ghost Whisperer for its future schedule.

He says, "They are talking about it, so that's cool. We haven't exactly gone into the light, we haven't crossed over, but we've got some life."

Ghost Whisperer premiered in 2005.

Monica Bellucci Welcomes Baby Girl

Actress Monica Bellucci is celebrating after giving birth to her second daughter on Friday.

The Italian star and her actor husband Vincent Cassel welcomed little Leonie in Rome.

A close friend of Bellucci tells People magazine both mother and daughter are doing "marvelously".

Bellucci and Cassel already have a daughter, five-year-old Deva.

Jesse James 'Wanted to Get Caught' Cheating

Jesse James says he knew Sandra Bullock would catch him cheating sooner or later – and that he wanted to be caught, because deceiving her sickened him.

"When I was doing it, you know, one, I knew it was horrible, it made me feel horrible," James tells ABC's Nightline in an interview airing Tuesday. "And two, I knew I would get caught eventually, and I think I wanted to get caught. ... It was me trying to self-sabotage my life."

Asked why he'd hurt someone who was – and he says still is – the most important person in his life, James is at a loss for words. "It's hard for me to talk about, a little bit, because I still really love her and care about her," he says.

But the West Coast Choppers owner, 41, is under no illusions about the level of that hurt. "I've spent my whole life with the kids and with her trying to ... protect her from everything, but the most hurt she's ever been caused is by the person that wanted to protect her," he says.

In an earlier promo for the show, James admits: "I took a pretty amazing life and marriage ... and threw it away."

Allegations of James's infidelity emerged shortly after Bullock, 45, won an Oscar for her leading role in The Blind Side in March.

In the Nightline interview, James will also address whether Bullock knew anything about his affairs, what he really went to rehab for, and what role – if any – will he play in the life of Bullock's adopted son, Louis.

Sean Hayes Named Host of This Year's Tonys

Current Promises, Promises Tony nominee and past Will & Grace Emmy winner Sean Hayes will host June 13's 64th annual Tony Awards ceremony, CBS – which will broadcast the show live from Radio City Music Hall – announced Monday.

The Tonys honor Broadway's best. This year's top nominees include the musicals Fela!" and La Cage aux Folles, with 11 nods each, and the revival of the drama Fences, starring Denzel Washington, with 10.

"I am absolutely thrilled to be hosting the Tony Awards," Hayes, 39, said in a statement. "As the new guy on Broadway, it's an honor to be included in the established alumni."

Hayes was also the subject of a controversial Newsweek essay on April 26, in which journalist Ramin Setoodeh suggested that gay actors (Hayes has recently come out) could not be believed in straight roles. The reaction was swift and severe.

Hayes's Promises costar, Kristin Chenoweth, led the charge, labeling Setoodeh's position "moronic."

All-Star Roster
Besides Hayes and Washington, other familiar names nominated for Tonys this season include Jude Law in Hamlet; Alfred Molina, in Red; Liev Schreiber in A View from the Bridge; Christopher Walken in A Behanding in Spokane; Kelsey Grammer in La Cage; Catherine Zeta-Jones and Angela Lansbury in A Little Night Music; Linda Lavin in Collected Stories; and Valerie Harper in Looped.

Bret Michaels Named 'Celebrity Apprentice'

Rocker Bret Michaels showed he's the ultimate survivor when he appeared on the live finale of reality TV show The Celebrity Apprentice on Sunday just days after suffering a minor stroke and overcoming a near-fatal brain hemorrhage - and won the big prize.

Michaels had to briefly pull out of the show when he first fell ill in April and underwent an emergency appendectomy - but that was just the beginning of the diabetic rocker's health nightmare. On April 21st, a severe headache sent him to hospital, where medics diagnosed bleeding on the brain. For five days, the Poison star fought for his life at a hospital in Arizona, and then, as he was at home recuperating he suffered a mini-stroke. Last week, he was diagnosed with a hole in the heart.

However, after discharging himself from the hospital, he jetted to New York for The Apprentice finale after a final health hiccup - he was forced to make a stop over in Nashville, Tennessee after complaining of "a headache, lower back pain and some cramping in his legs" on the flight. After medical attention, he re-boarded the private jet bound for New York.

The Apprentice host, businessman Donald Trump, had no idea if Michaels would make it to the Big Apple until just hours before the show. He kicked off the live finale by telling the studio audience and fans at home, "I'm happy to announce Bret Michaels is here with us tonight." The rock star and actress Holly Robinson Peete beat out 12 other celebrities, including Sharon Osbourne and Cyndi Lauper, to compete in the finale.

Reigning Celebrity Apprentice winner Joan Rivers, who was a special guest on the finale, admitted she was impressed with Michaels' spirit. She said, "Bret, you talk about no sick days... (He had) the determination to come back from death's door. To say, 'I'm gonna be here and this is where I have to be...' I find this extraordinary."

The rocker gingerly hobbled onto the show's live stage to hugs from his fellow contestants and a standing ovation from the studio audience, and revealed his doctors didn't want him to be on the show.

He joked, "Lately, it seems that me just standing up is risking my life... It's been crazy for about a month and a half. I thought I was healthy... It's been a risk, but I wanted to be here tonight."
The rocker won $250,000 for his diabetes charity from beverage company Snapple.

Brittany Murphy's Husband Found Dead

Brittany Murphy's widower Simon Monjack has been found dead in the Los Angeles home he once shared with the actress.

Murphy's mom Sharon is said to have called emergency services on Sunday night after finding the screenwriter unconscious in the master bedroom of the Hollywood Hills property where the Clueless star died in December. He is believed to have suffered a cardiac arrest. Resuscitation efforts failed and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to ETOnline.com.

Sergeant Louie Lozano of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) tells the website, "We have detectives at (the) scene. They are conducting their investigation."

The L.A. coroner ruled in February that Murphy died after from pneumonia, complicated by anemia and multiple drug intoxication.

She is said to have gone into cardiac arrest at the house she shared with Monjack and Sharon, and was pronounced dead at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on December 20th.

Lindsay Lohan Lands at LAX

Lindsay Lohan is back in the United States.

The actress landed at Los Angeles International Airport Saturday evening around 7 p.m., following a trip to Cannes that caused legal woes for the actress earlier in the week.

Claiming her passport had been stolen, Lohan, 23, missed a scheduled progress report hearing Thursday, causing the judge to issue a warrant for her arrest.

Although the warrant was lifted after Lohan posted $100,000 bail, the actress must appear at a new hearing set for Monday morning, where she will likely be ordered to wear an alcohol-monitoring bracelet and submit to weekly drug tests.

Lohan currently remains on probation through August 2011.

`Shrek Forever After' Tops Box Office With $71.3M

"Shrek Forever After" roared its way to the top of the box office, making $71.3M in its opening weekend.

But the fourth film in the monster franchise from DreamWorks Animation had the weakest debut of all the "Shrek" sequels. "Shrek 2," from 2004, opened with $108 million. "Shrek the Third," from 2007, made $121.6 million in its first weekend.

And the latest installment was available for the first time in 3-D and IMAX 3-D, where ticket prices are higher — up to $19 in Manhattan.

This time, Shrek — voiced as always by Mike Myers — is experiencing a mid-life crisis, so he makes a deal with Rumpelstiltskin to live as a fearsome ogre again for one day.

The other new wide release, "MacGruber," opened in sixth place with a disappointing $4.1 million.

Bret Michaels Hoping To Make 'Apprentice' Final

Rocker Bret Michaels is determined to take part in the live finale of reality show The Celebrity Apprentice on Sunday, despite suffering a minor stroke earlier this week.

The Poison frontman was recently admitted to a Los Angeles hospital after complaining of numbness on the left side of his body, as he was recovering from a near-fatal brain hemorrhage. Doctors discovered he had suffered a mini-stroke and also found he had a hole in his heart - a condition which is treatable. He has since been discharged and is receiving outpatient care.

His representative, Jann Elias, states the rocker is walking, talking and "in good spirits." And Michaels is eager to return to work - he is determined to participate in the final episode of Donald Trump's reality TV competition, after making it to the last round with actress Holly Robinson Peete.

Michaels was recuperating in a treatment center in Arizona while pre-recorded episodes of the contest aired in the U.S. The live showdown is set to take place in New York on Sunday - and the rocker is still counting on being there, as long as he gets the green light from his medics.

His rep tells People.com, "As far as I know, Bret will be there unless his doctors tell him otherwise. We're cautiously optimistic that he will attend the finale. But ultimately, it's up to his doctors."

There's still no word whether or not his comeback concert in Mississippi next week will go ahead.

Jesse James: 'I Think I'm The Most Hated Man In The World'

Disgraced reality star Jesse James teared up during a TV interview when he came clean about cheating on actress Sandra Bullock, admitting he "threw away" an "amazing life".

The TV mechanic was dumped by Bullock in March after news of his infidelities hit the headlines, and the Hollywood star recently filed for divorce. James has now opened up to news show Nightline in his first TV interview since the scandal broke, in which he acknowledges how badly he screwed up.

He tells reporter Vicki Mabrey, "(I) took a pretty amazing life and amazing success and marriage... and threw it away by my own hands." At one point in the emotional chat, he even asks to "take a break for a second" to compose himself.

James also uses the interview to apologize to Bullock once more, and when asked if he's "the most hated man in America" for cheating on "America's sweetheart," he laughs, "I think (I'm) the 'most hated man in the world', now.

The TV tough guy originally apologized to his estranged wife after tattooed model Michelle 'Bombshell' McGee sold her story of their affair to the tabloids in March. Addressing the affair allegations in a statement, James said, "There is only one person to blame for this whole situation, and that is me... This has caused my wife and kids pain and embarrassment beyond comprehension and I am extremely saddened to have brought this on them. I am truly very sorry for the grief I have caused them. I hope one day they can find it in their hearts to forgive me."

Bullock went public with her thoughts and feelings about her marriage breakdown in a People magazine expose last month, while revealing the couple had adopted a baby boy named Louis from New Orleans, Louisiana. The full Nightline interview is set to air on Tuesday. Insiders claim he will also open up about his recent stint in rehab and the adoption of little Louis.

Bret Michaels Suffers Stroke, Has Hole In Heart

Rocker Bret Michaels is back in the hospital after suffering a mini-stroke, and doctors have discovered he has a hole in his heart.

The unlucky Poison frontman has been making comeback plans after suffering a brain hemorrhage last month - and now he has been hit by another health battle after experiencing numbness on the left side of his body.

In a post on Michaels' website, his physician, Dr. Joseph Zabramski, writes, "There is no doubt that (this) is devastating news to Bret and his family. The good news is that it is operable and treatable and we think we may have diagnosed the problem that caused the Transient Ischemic Attack (stroke).

"Without a doubt he is very determined to get healthy and make a 100 per cent recovery. Medically speaking it is a fantastic attitude both mentally and physically for him to have. However, Bret's brain and body are not quite 100 per cent yet, especially with the hole found in his heart."

However, Michaels' representative has reassured fans that the star appears to be responding well to treatment.

Jann Elias says, "(He is) in good spirits, great medical hands and is positive and hopeful that everything is going to be okay.

"He is up, walking, talking, continuing his daily rehab and very happy to be alive, but he has made it clear he is sick and tired of being in the hospital and is ready to rock again."

The stroke is not believed to be related to his near-fatal brain hemorrhage.

It is not known if his latest medical crisis will effect his appearance on the upcoming finale of reality TV show "The Celebrity Apprentice" or concerts planned at the end of the month.

Katherine Heigl's Baby Is 'Fine' After Heart Surgery

Katherine Heigl's adopted daughter is "100 per cent fine" after undergoing open heart surgery. The Knocked Up star and her singer husband Josh Kelley welcomed baby Nancy Leigh into their family from Korea last September, when the baby was 10 months old.

Heigl revealed the tot, nicknamed Naleigh, had special needs, as well as a congenital heart defect. The baby underwent life-saving surgery when she was just two months old to repair a hole in her heart.

The baby girl had another operation just before Heigl took her home to Los Angeles and the actress insists Naleigh is now in perfect health. She tells Harper's Bazaar magazine, "Her heart is 100 per cent fine now. She has a scar, so she won't be wearing bikinis, which is fine by us."

And Heigl is adamant being a mom to a special needs baby isn't as tough as it may seem.

She adds, "A lot of children don't find forever homes because they're on that special-needs list, even if it's because of something as simple as her mother smoked cigarettes for a month, not knowing she was pregnant. That's not so huge (a problem) that you couldn't handle it."

'Suge' Knight Arrested Again

Hip-hop mogul Marion 'Suge' Knight is back behind bars after he was arrested in the early hours of Thursday morning. The former Death Row Records boss was reportedly pulled over by cops in his Cadillac Escalade in Los Angeles, and taken into custody.

TMZ.com is reporting Knight was arrested for assault involving a firearm, but there was no official confirmation as WENN went to press. The website claims he was also taken in for driving with a suspended license, while AllHipHop.com reports Knight was wanted by cops for questioning over an alleged assault on rapper Yukmouth in March.

The former label boss was previously sentenced to nine years in prison in 1997 on parole violation charges, before being released in 2001. He was then imprisoned again in 2003 for violating parole.

Knight's bail is reportedly set at $65,000.

Valerie Bertinelli Engaged to Boyfriend Tom Vitale

Having turned 50 only last month, Valerie Bertinelli is looking forward to another milestone: a wedding this fall to her boyfriend of six years, businessman Tom Vitale.

Vitale, 48, proposed on a romantic night in Florence during a recent trip to Italy. "We'd talked about getting married, but I was still shocked. It was sweet when he asked me, because he was so scared. I was like, 'Are you kidding me?' " the actress tells AARP The Magazine in its July/August issue.

The couple met in 2004 after their previous marriages ended. On the Italy trip, the stars aligned for a proposal. "If the time wasn't right, I wouldn't have asked," Vitale says. "We're both still a little afraid of commitment, but then we were over there, and it was like our souls were calibrated."

A wedding is set for this fall, and Bertinelli says she's leaving the planning up to Vitale. "He already knows the different kinds of bells he wants to go off during the ceremony," she says.

Having lost more than 40 pounds since 2007 as a spokeswoman for Jenny Craig, Bertinelli says her weight issues have never been a problem for Vitale. "I've never felt more beautiful at any weight than when Tom looks at me," she says. "He loved me no matter what. In his way, he's teaching me to love myself just as I am."

Bertinelli, now starring in the TV Land sitcom Hot in Cleveland, has a son, Wolfie, 19, from her marriage to rocker Eddie Van Halen. Vitale is the father of four children who are now between the ages of 11 and 19.

Joe Jonas Working On A Solo Album

Joe Jonas has announced plans to release a solo album away from The Jonas Brothers.

The 20 year old shot to fame as the lead singer of the Disney sibling trio but now he's ready to branch out by recording his own material.

He tells Just Jared, "There's nothing to hide. We're just waiting for the right timing. There's a lot of Jonas stuff going on this year, so once there's a place for that record, we'll release it. You'll hear a lot of new music from us."

The youngest member of the band, Nick, was the first to launch a separate side project when he formed Nick Jonas and The Administration last year. The Lovebug hit-makers have repeatedly denied rumors of a split and are planning to go on tour together this summer.

Are Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams a Couple Off-Screen?

Their new movie Blue Valentine earned great reviews so far at the Cannes Film Festival – but costars Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling have everyone on Croisette talking about something else: whether or not they're a real-life couple.

In the drama, Williams and Gosling, both 29, play a couple trying to prevent their marriage from falling apart. But the stars looked anything but troubled at Tuesday's photocall, where the actor squeezed Williams's hand affectionately.

Later, just before their big premiere, Williams clasped Gosling's hand on the red carpet, and the two remained hand-in-hand while walking into the screening. They were equally cozy at a rooftop afterparty at the Palais Stephanie hotel, where Gosling kept his arm firmly around Williams's shoulder while partygoers sipped cocktails around a pool with views of the lit-up yachts in the harbor.

So, are they an item?

"He is cozy with everyone!" Gosling's rep tells PEOPLE.

A source close to the film's producers believes they were dating. "You know actors who meet on movie sets," he said. "It can be the most romantic place in the world."

This isn't the first time that rumors about their relationship have surfaced. At the Sundance Film Festival in January, where Blue Valentine initially premiered, Gosling, who brought his mom as his date, and Williams showed obvious chemistry at a dinner for the cast.

They also danced with Faith Wladyka, who plays their daughter, and took turns tubing down the snow hill.

Lindsay Lohan Blames Her Dad For Stolen Passport

Lindsay Lohan has blamed her estranged father for the passport problems which jeopardized her important probation hearing in Los Angeles - and insists she's embroiled in a set-up.

The Mean Girls star must appear before Judge Marsha Revel at Beverly Hills Courthouse on Thursday to determine if she satisfactorily completed court-ordered alcohol education classes stemming from a 2007 arrest. Reports suggest a warrant will be issued for her arrest if she fails to appear.

The actress recently jetted to the Cannes Film Festival and her father Michael accused her of deliberately flying to France ahead of the probation hearing in a bid to land a quick jail sentence rather than rehab. Lohan now appears to be stranded in Europe after her passport was allegedly stolen at the annual movie event - and she's convinced her dad is behind its disappearance.

She tells GossipCop.com, "My passport's been stolen. It's clearly an inside person who works with my father that has been sent to set me up. He's been threatening me."

Lohan has an appointment with U.S. Embassy officials on Thursday morning to help replace the document, but she'll fail to make it back to L.A. in time for her court hearing - and the 23 year old is now facing further travel problems.

She admits, "All flights (are) booked." However, Lohan is confident the drama can be resolved, declaring, "It's all going to be fine... (but it's) so scary."

Audrina Patridge and Ryan Cabrera Split

since January, Audrina Patridge and Ryan Cabrera have had their ups, downs and oh-so-romantic nights that have of course been chronicled on The Hills.

But it's over now. "She ended things about a week ago," says a source. "There were issues in their relationship. But a lot comes from his partying ways."

Tuesday night Cabrera hit Trousdale lounge in L.A. with some pals and was seen with an Audrina lookalike brunette. "He was grabbing her hands, whispering to her, smiling and they were laughing together," says an onlooker.

So it this really the end or could this reality romance resurrect someday? Says another source: "He still wants to work things out."

Rep: 'It Was Megan Fox's Decision To Leave 'Transformers''

Megan Fox's spokesperson has moved swiftly to dismiss rumors the actress was dropped from the third Transformers movie after publicly criticizing moviemaker Michael Bay insisting it was the star's decision to leave the franchise.

It was revealed on Wednesday that the sexy star will not be playing Shia LaBeouf's love interest in the second sequel, due to hit screens next year.

The news came after Fox slammed director Bay and revealed he was a "nightmare to work for" and "hopelessly awkward" in 2009 interviews. She was later blasted by crew members who branded her "dumb" and claimed she was "about as ungracious a person as you can ever fathom."

Bay defended the 24 year old against the allegations, but it didn't stop online gossips from linking the incidents to Fox's sudden departure from the film series.

However, Fox's representative is adamant it was the actress' choice not to film a third Transformers movie. The rep tells Access Hollywood, "Megan Fox will not be starring in Transformers 3. It was her decision not to return. She wishes the franchise the best."

Amanda Seyfried Is Single

The "Mamma Mia!" romance is over - Dominic Cooper and Amanda Seyfried have reportedly split.

A source tells People.com the couple who became an item as they played lovers in the Abba movie musical have decided to take a break from each other.

The insider says, "Amanda and Dominic have been on and off for a while, and right now they're taking a break, but they're great friends and could still get back together."

The split comes just weeks after Seyfried told Teen Vogue magazine she was unsure if Brit Cooper was "the one".

She said, "A lot of people ask me, 'Is Dominic The One?' I don't know, and I'm fine with that. Too much planning can lead to heartbreak. Love is great and possible always, but it's very rare to have the feeling that 'I want to be with this person forever.'"

An eyewitness tells Life & Style magazine, "They held hands in full view of everyone."

Jones was linked to Entourage star Jeremy Piven at the beginning of the year, while Brody split from Spanish actress Elsa Pataky last May.

Hugh Hefner Boots Shannon Twins From Playboy Mansion

Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner has ended his relationship with his twin girlfriends - because he was fed up with them dating other men.

The adult magazine publisher booted blonde sisters Karissa and Kristina Shannon out of his famed Playboy Mansion to devote more time to girlfriend Crystal Harris - but he allowed the pair to move into the nearby house for Playmates.

But the siblings, who have appeared on Hefner's The Girls Next Door reality show, have now left the Playboy grounds altogether after upsetting Hefner by going out on dates.

Karissa tells PopEater.com, "After a couple of weeks, Hef was getting a little bit upset about the boyfriends, so he wanted us to move out. We were not allowed to have boys in the house. That was the absolute number one rule - no boys allowed. That was one of the main reasons we moved out. But living there and being seen out with other guys, (Hugh) was tripping."

Vanessa Williams joins 'Desperate Housewives'

Dana Delany has departed Desperate Housewives for new ABC show Body of Proof, but Wisteria Lane will soon have a new neighbor.

Show chief Marc Cherry tells TV Guide Magazine's Will Keck that he just signed Vanessa Williams. They just closed a deal this morning for the Ugly Betty star to join the show as a series regular in the fall.

"I'm a big fan of Vanessa's work and I'm so excited that she'll be moving into the neighborhood next season to cause trouble in all the ladies' lives," says Cherry. But don't expect Vanessa to be at the center of next season's big mystery, Keck notes. Cherry says, "I think our mystery is going to involve Paul Young [returning cast member Mark Moses]."

Source: CBS canceling `Cold Case,' 6 other series

CBS is moving aggressively to shake up its 2010-11 season, canceling "Cold Case," "Ghost Whisperer" and five other series.

According to a person familiar with the changes, other canceled shows include "Numb3rs," "The New Adventures of Old Christine," "Gary Unmarried," "Miami Medical" and "Accidentally on Purpose." The person, who wasn't authorized to discuss the changes publicly, spoke on condition of anonymity.

The wholesale axings came as a surprise, given the respectable ratings earned by some of the shows and CBS' standing as the most-watched network.

The cancellations will clear shelf space for newcomers, including William Shatner's first sitcom, a police drama with Tom Selleck and other shows to be officially announced Wednesday by CBS.

Charlie Sheen Returning to Two and a Half Men

After publicly considering leaving Two and a Half Men, Charlie Sheen has agreed to return to the hit sitcom for two more years.

“To put a fitting end on the two and one-half months of whirlwind speculation, I’m looking forward to returning to my CBS home on Monday nights,” Sheen says in a statement.

The actor, whose contract expired last month, recently denied reports his salary negotiations for a new contract were an 11th-hour negotiating ploy, telling PEOPLE he had remained firm on his terms to return since last June.

CBS is expected to officially announce Sheen and the show’s return before unveiling its fall lineup to advertisers on Wednesday.

Miley Cyrus Wraps Up 'Hannah Montana' With Party

Miley Cyrus celebrated the end of Hannah Montana by throwing a casino-themed wrap party on Sunday.

The singer/actress found fame playing Miley Stewart, a high school student leading a secret double life as pop star Montana, but Disney bosses announced earlier this year that the upcoming fourth season would be the last.

Cyrus, along with her co-stars Emily Osment, Jason Earles and Romi Dames, marked their last episode with a lavish bash at Los Angeles hotspot h.wood - and although the 17-year-old's boyfriend Liam Hemsworth wasn't in attendance, there was one surprise guest.

A source tells Hollywood Life, "There was no Liam in sight, but Will Smith stopped by the Hannah Montana wrap party to drop off his kids (Willow and Jaden). They're big Hannah Montana fans. At one point, Will's hit song Welcome to Miami was played, and Willow was dancing along with Miley. It was so cute!"

"Miley and the rest of her cast, Emily Osment, Jason Earles and Romi Dames were celebrating with a casino-themed party. They had a congratulatory cake, sushi, hot dogs and fries, a fondu set-up by chef Mark Mittelman, a doughnut cart, sugar cookies and custom tea blends."

Twilight Director: Salary Dispute 'Could Turn Ugly'

Catherine Hardwicke, director of the first Twilight film, who was closely involved in casting the ensemble of actors, is under no illusions about the seriousness of the current salary dispute involving Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz.

"It would really break my heart if they were replaced, but it could happen. Things could turn ugly quickly," Hardwicke, 54, said this weekend at the Twilight Convention in Vancouver.

Cullen kids Lutz, 25, and Greene, 23, reportedly had a three-picture deal, which expired, and are trying to score paydays of about $1.5 million as work begins on the next installment, Breaking Dawn. But Hardwicke says the young actors might not even be all that involved in the negotiations.

"They have all these people and outside influences telling you what to do," Hardwicke said. "They tell you to hold out for this much because you're such an important part of the franchise, and everyone is telling you to ask for more."

But it's a dangerous game, she adds – pointing to the case of Rachelle Lefevre, who was replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard for Eclipse. "A lot of stuff can get mishandled and misunderstood," she said. "That is what happened with Rachelle Lafevre."

Do they actually deserve more money? Hard to say. "Probably they do deserve more money, on one level," Hardwicke says. "But if everybody makes so much money then ... [shrugs]. It is very complicated. Oh my, it is such a mess. I really hope they can sort it out because it would be a shame to lose any actors."

He revealed that he and his wife, Deanna, are using a surrogate for the pregnancy because she had a partial hysterectomy in 2006.

He writes, "Deanna and I are overjoyed about this double blessing. Thank you for your expressions of love and support and for respecting our privacy during this special time."

The couple already has two children, Hannah and Griffin.

Olsen Twins Mix-Up In Airplane Drama

Mary-Kate Olsen was surprised at reports she got caught up in a mid-air drama on Sunday - it was her twin sister Ashley on the stricken plane.

Initial reports of the incident stated that former child star Mary-Kate was traveling on a flight from New York to Los Angeles when a blaze broke out at the front of the aircraft, cracking the windshield and forcing the pilots to make an emergency landing in Virginia.

However, it has now emerged the twins were a victim of mistaken identity by other passengers - it was Ashley Olsen on the plane, with her actor boyfriend Justin Bartha.

A representative for the Olsens has confirmed Ashley was on the flight and was unharmed in the incident.

Confirmed: Tiger Woods' Mistress Was Also David Boreanaz's 'Girlfriend'

A lawyer for Tiger Woods' alleged mistress Rachel Uchitel has released a statement confirming the nightclub hostess is the 'other woman' who almost wrecked David Boreanaz's marriage.

The Angel star recently confessed to cheating on his ex-Playboy Playmate wife Jaime Bergman with an unnamed woman, and admitted he was forced to come clean about the affair after his mistress threatened to sell her story to the media.

Online gossips named Uchitel - the woman who sparked the Woods affair scandal - as Boreanaz's mistress, but she initially refuted the claims, stating, "I am not in communication with him and do not wish to be. I have made no claims against him and do not plan to assert any."

But, after a string of angry texts allegedly sent between the pair were leaked online, Uchitel's lawyer Gloria Allred has revealed her client did have a relationship with the TV hunk, and claims the star "treated her as his girlfriend" during their torrid romance.

A statement from Allred reads, "(Rachel) understood that he (Boreanaz) was unhappy in his marriage and had been for some time and she had reason to believe that he intended to separate from his wife. He treated her as his girlfriend and also took her out in public. He called her between takes when he was taping his television show and put her on the telephone with his friends and his son. He even stayed with Ms. Uchitel when he came to New York for press tours."

And Allred insists her client ended the relationship because "she felt that he had not been completely truthful with her and she no longer trusted him."

Bergman, who has two children with Boreanaz, recently revealed her personal pain after hearing of her husband's infidelities. She said, "I'm still angry. I'm still mad. I am still hurt. It took a crisis, it took infidelity to get us off our a**es and work for what we want."

The couple is fighting to save the marriage.

ABC Cancels 'Scrubs,' 'FlashForward' & Other Series

More Long-running medical comedy "Scrubs," "FlashForward" and Alyssa Milano's new TV series "Romantically Challenged" have been axed as part of a cull by bosses at ABC, according to reports.

Network chiefs have allegedly declined to commission a second series of Milano's comedy, which received mixed reviews after its launch last month.

Scrubs, which was rebooted for a ninth season, has also been cancelled along with sci-fi drama "FlashForward" and sitcom "Better Off Ted," according to Entertainment Weekly.

"Scrubs" star Zach Braff sparked rumors earlier this year that the show would be axed after posting a message on his Facebook.com page saying the series is "no more."

Alyssa Milano Denies 'Romantically Challenged' Has Been Canceled

Alyssa Milano is baffled by reports her new TV series Romantically Challenged has been axed - insisting a decision has yet to be made by network bosses.

Chiefs at ABC allegedly declined to commission a second series of Milano's comedy, which received mixed reviews after its launch last month.

However, Milano insists TV executives have yet to determine the future of her show - and she's taken to her Twitter.com blog to blast the reporter who broke the unconfirmed news.

She writes: "#romanticallychallenged I just spoke to abc. They say that no decision has been made as of yet. Either @MichaelAusiello is misinformed or his "insider" spilled before proper human contact was made between the network, producers & cast. Either way it's not cool."
