Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are suing a British newspaper

The hollywood power couple are suing Britain's News of the World tabloid over the report that they had planned imminently to separate and had agreed on how they would divide their assets and custody of their children. The article was published on Jan. 24.

In a statement, Keith Schilling, a lawyer who represents Mr. Pitt and Ms. Jolie in the suit, said the misuse of private information — under certain circumstances, a violation of British law — did not depend on whether the information was true or false. But, the statement added, “we can confirm unequivocally, and upon instructions,” that the published claims of a pending break-up of the Pitt-Jolie marriage were false.

The couple has been together since 2005. They have three biological kids and three adopted children.

They appeared at the Super Bowl yesterday smiling and laughing.
