The Ellen DeGeneres Show renewed for three more years

The Emmy-winning DeGeneres made her debut on "American Idol" this week as the show's newest judge, and the critics already love what she's bringing to the judge's table. "Although I initially thought she was a terrible choice (based on her spotlight-hogging star power, her conflict of interest and one astoundingly painful guest-judge appearance on 'So You Think You Can Dance'), I can now say that Ellen DeGeneres is exactly what's been missing from the judge's table since the fourth season: passion," said Jim Cantiello, MTV's own "Idol" expert.

According to E! News, Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution has renewed "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" for three additional seasons, meaning the talk-show maven will continue to dance and joke with celebrity guests in syndication until 2014. The announcement comes hot on the heels of rumors that DeGeneres would switch to ABC after Oprah Winfrey closes shop on her talk show.
