Fantasia Barrino recieves hate letter

Fantasia Barrino is amping up her security and watching her back after receiving a threatening letter filled with racial slurs.

The 'American Idol' winner had just finished a performance of “The Color Purple” Friday, when she received the letter in a stack of fan mail, reported TMZ.com

Fantasia’s manager said that the singer was “alarmed” over the racially prejudiced note, which included the n-word and a line saying, “go back where you came from and die.”

Sources tell TMZ that the author of the letter claims to have worked as a security guard for Fox during Barrino’s “Idol” stint.

The incident was reported to LAPD, and the Pantages Theater, the venue in Los Angeles where Fantasia was performing, has beefed up its security measures.

Despite all of the procedures and precautions taken to protect the star, she says she isn’t going to let this stop her.

She told TMZ, “I will not be defeated by one person’s hatred.”
