Rocker Bret Michaels is determined to take part in the live finale of reality show The Celebrity Apprentice on Sunday, despite suffering a minor stroke earlier this week.
The Poison frontman was recently admitted to a Los Angeles hospital after complaining of numbness on the left side of his body, as he was recovering from a near-fatal brain hemorrhage. Doctors discovered he had suffered a mini-stroke and also found he had a hole in his heart - a condition which is treatable. He has since been discharged and is receiving outpatient care.
His representative, Jann Elias, states the rocker is walking, talking and "in good spirits." And Michaels is eager to return to work - he is determined to participate in the final episode of Donald Trump's reality TV competition, after making it to the last round with actress Holly Robinson Peete.
Michaels was recuperating in a treatment center in Arizona while pre-recorded episodes of the contest aired in the U.S. The live showdown is set to take place in New York on Sunday - and the rocker is still counting on being there, as long as he gets the green light from his medics.
His rep tells People.com, "As far as I know, Bret will be there unless his doctors tell him otherwise. We're cautiously optimistic that he will attend the finale. But ultimately, it's up to his doctors."
There's still no word whether or not his comeback concert in Mississippi next week will go ahead.
