Rock singer and reality TV star Bret Michaels says he has been given a second chance at life after surviving a near fatal brain hemorrhage, and hopes to "rock the world" instead of worrying it might happen again.
The frontman for the rock band Poison told People magazine in an interview that the hemorrhage two weeks ago had left him with some short-term memory loss, but he felt lucky to be alive.
Michaels, 47, who is also currently starring in "The Celebrity Apprentice" on NBC television, was released from a Phoenix hospital at the weekend and is expected to make a full recovery, his doctor said earlier this week.
"As painful as this experience has been, I was given a second chance, right? I don't want to sit around every night worrying this is going to happen again," Michaels told People in an interview released on Thursday.
"What I want to do is make a positive bucket list and say 'I'm just gonna go for it.'...My first goal is to get back (to) 100 percent. I want to continue to rock the world, and I want to continue to love my family and be a good father," he told the magazine. Marriage to Kristi Gibson, the mother of his two daughters, is also a possibility, he said.
The People magazine interview hits newsstands on Friday.
Michaels said he felt God had intervened to save him because he had been at home recovering from an emergency appendectomy, rather than touring with his band when the hemorrhage hit him "like a handgun".
The rocker found fame with the glam-metal band Poison and hangs onto that fame as a reality TV star.

"It just wasn't my time yet. I really believe that," he said. "I could've been on my tour bus at a truck stop somewhere, nowhere near a medical center.
"Of all the ways that I thought I could go out, that wasn't one of them. Definitely not a rock star way to go out," said Michaels, who is also diabetic.
Michaels, who starred in the reality dating show "Rock of Love", is still in the running to win "The Celebrity Apprentice." Filming ended before his medical problems and the show is nearing its broadcast finale later this month.
