Taylor Swift Named 'Artist Of The Year'

Country music sensation Taylor Swift has added another major accolade to her collection of trophies after picking up the "Artist of the Year Award" at a major industry dinner on Monday night.

The hitmaker was honored at the NARM Music Business Association's annual gala in Chicago, Illinois.

Paying tribute to the 20 year old, NARM President Jim Donio said, "We are thrilled to welcome Taylor back to NARM, and we are especially proud to recognise her extraordinary creative and commercial achievements with our Artist of the Year Award. She has made a brilliant and stellar contribution to the music industry in just a few years and we congratulate her on this much-deserved honor."

Singer Melissa Etheridge was also a big winner - she received the Harry Chapin Memorial Humanitarian Award for her prominent work as a gay rights activist, while songwriting duo Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller were presented with the organization's "Outstanding Achievement Award for Musical Collaboration."
